Chapter 796: Not Even One
Daddy! Come Home for Dinner!
âThe numbers you mentioned are just hypothetical.â Adrian Zhekova said, acting as if he had seen through everything.
âIn reality, it must be more than that.â Adrian Zhekova held up three fingers. âEven if itâs just three, it feels like a lot to me.â
Cindy: ââ¦â
If she had known that, she would have mentioned only one person.
âEven one is not acceptable,â Adrian Zhekova quickly added.
Cindy: ââ¦â
Adrian Zhekova smirked and said, âYouâre somewhat of a celebrity now. Youâve been on Cresthill TV Station, and youâve appeared in quite a few live broadcasts of the Cooking Competition. Didnât he recognize you?â
âAfter all, itâs a niche program. There are so many people in the country; not everyone has seen it.â Cindy said, âJust like the two of us being public about our relationship. Youâre so famous, but he still didnât recognize you just now.â
Adrian Zhekova: ââ¦â
âAlright!â Cindy hooked her arm around Adrian Zhekovaâs. âThis kind of thing doesnât happen often. Besides, Iâm always with you and Morgan. In the future, there will be fewer chances for this kind of situation.â
âMoreover, as I get older, wonât there be fewer people coming to interact with me?â Cindy added.
âEven when you get older, youâll still be young and beautiful.â Adrian Zhekova immediately said.
At this, Cindy couldnât help but laugh.
How could this man be so good with words?
âShall we go ice skating?â Cindy asked.
âAre you guys hungry?â Adrian Zhekova asked.
They had gotten up late in the morning and had breakfast late as well.
By the time they finished watching the movie, it was already 2 oâclock in the afternoon.
âIâm not hungry,â the little one shook his head.
âIâm not hungry either.â Cindy turned to Adrian Zhekova, âWhat about you?â
âIâm not hungry either.â Adrian Zhekova glanced at the time again. âLetâs go ice skating first, and then eat.â
âAlthough itâs a little early for dinner around four oâclock, letâs just treat it as dinner.â Adrian Zhekova suggested. âHow does that sound?â
âSounds good. If weâre hungry tonight, Iâll make you guys something else to eat.â Cindy agreed with a smile.
So the matter was happily settled.
The three of them went to the ice rink.
After paying, they picked up their skates at the entrance of the Ice Rink.
There were long benches near the entrance to facilitate changing shoes.
Cindy had always watched Morgan playing before, so she had never worn ice skates herself.
Looking at the narrow blades at the bottom of the skates, it was hard to imagine how one could walk steadily on the ice rink wearing them.
Cindy didnât put on her skates yet, and first glanced into the rink.
Some kids inside could do elegant spins on one leg and even skate backward.
There were also those who could skate on one leg.
Some didnât know any fancy moves but could still skate steadily and quite well.
There were even people who had had enough of skating and just started walking on the ice.
Despite the narrow blades, they still stood steadily on the ice.
Cindy felt incredibly envious.
How on earth was this possible?
Morgan had already put on his skates and could hardly wait to stand up.
Because the outside corridor of the rink was carpeted, although the blades were narrow, they still had some width to them.
With strong friction between the blades and the carpet, even those who couldnât skate could walk steadily on the carpet.
Morgan went ahead to the entrance of the ice rink first.
âCindy, Dad, Iâll go in first.â Morgan announced.
âWait a moment.â Cindy told him.
âYou go in with Morgan first.â Cindy said to Adrian Zhekova.
She still needed to do some mental preparation for herself.
Adrian Zhekova laughed, âI didnât expect that youâd be afraid.â
âIâm just afraid of pain,â Cindy said pitifully. âThe ice is cold and hard; it would really hurt if I fall.â@@novelbin@@
âWith me here, you wonât fall,â Adrian Zhekova assured her.
But even with his assurance, Cindy would still be scared.
âDonât you trust me?â Adrian Zhekova asked with a smile.
âOf course I trust you,â Cindy replied.
âI just donât trust myself.â It looked scary.
âDonât worry, no matter when, as long as I see youâre about to fall, Iâll catch you.â Adrian Zhekova promised.
Cindy then took a deep breath and stood up.
Standing on the carpet, she felt pretty stable.
Even without any foundation, she could still stand steadily.
Morgan went into the ice rink first.
However, he didnât go far and didnât cause Cindy any worries.
He just skated back and forth near the entrance, waiting for Cindy.
Adrian Zhekova also went into the ice rink, but he didnât skate; he just waited for Cindy at the entrance.
Cindy reached the entrance and quickly held onto the railing, carefully stepping into the rink one step at a time.
âYou⦠you go ahead and skate with Morgan. Let me get used to it first.â Cindy said wobblingly.
Both her hands were tightly gripping the railing.
Adrian Zhekova couldnât help but laugh.
In order to help Cindy relax and not to make her so nervous,
Adrian Zhekova didnât rush her.
He naturally watched Morgan skating first, giving Cindy some time for mental preparation.
It was Morganâs first time skating with Adrian Zhekova, and he was so happy. After circling around Adrian Zhekova a few times, he performed all the moves he knew.
âDad, how was it? How was it?â Morgan eagerly asked.
Looking at Morganâs twinkling, star-like eyes, Adrian Zhekova nodded with a slight smile, âNot bad. You can do quite a few moves, and you skate well.â
Morganâs skills were limited, and his movements were not very sophisticated.
But for entertainment, it was more than enough.
Morganâs little face was flushed, and he was extremely happy to be praised by Adrian Zhekova for once.
Although Morgan often teased Adrian Zhekova,
deep down, he really wanted Adrian Zhekovaâs approval.
With his face red, Morgan suddenly became shy and embarrassed.
Adrian Zhekova found the sight quite surprising.
It was rare for Morgan to have such thin skin and be embarrassed.
This was a rare sight indeed.
Without any difficulty, Morgan skated over to Cindy, but maintained some distance.
He was afraid that if he got too close, she would become more nervous.
âCindy, just relax. Itâs okay.â Morgan said kindly.
Adrian Zhekova also skated over and told Morgan, âYou can skate around us, but donât go too far. Itâs best if we can see you in our line of sight.â
It was a holiday now, and there were many people out playing.
There were quite a lot of people in the ice rink today.
Adults had blind spots in their vision.
Children like Morgan were too short, so it was easy to collide with them if they werenât seen.
Morgan wasnât very tall, so seeing him among the crowd made people feel uneasy.
âI got it.â Morgan patted his chest with a âthump-thumpâ sound. âI need to protect Cindy, so I wonât go far.â
For Morgan, ice skating wasnât the main activity.
The most important thing was to be with Cindy and Adrian Zhekova.
When he looked at other children in the ice rink,
he saw older kids playing on their own,
but children his age were usually accompanied by their parents.
Morgan used to be very envious of that.
