Chapter 22
It’s Too Late To Get A Divorce
Chapter 22
Alita took a deep breath, eyeing the fruits in Kimâs hands. Her face remained calm, but she hesitated, unsure which one to pick.
Annabelâs sweet smile transformed into a sinister look.
âCome on, Alita, just pick one. Why make it so hard?â Annabelâs tone was still sweet, but her eyes were sharp.
âTo be honest, I like all fruits. Grapes are sweet, and bananas are soft; each has its own charm,â Alita said, avoiding making a random choice.
Jaydon sneered. âYouâre greedy. If you eat too many bananas and then try the grapes, theyâll taste extra sour. By
then, the grapes will just rot and be thrown away.â
Alita, sharpâminded, immediately understood that bananas were his choice. âYouâre right. After careful thought,
bananas seem more to my taste.â
âReally?â Jaydon raised an eyebrow, a surprised and smug smile spreading across his face.
âOf course.â Alita smiled gently at him, inwardly sighing in relief. âChildish.â
âAre you still trying to please him even after heâs treated you like this?â Kim thought and sneered, but he then quickly regained composure. âWell, looks like I lost. Alita, it seems you helped him cheat.â
âWhy would I? He just knows me better,â Alita responded gracefully. These two men wanted to make her suffer, but it wasnât that easy.
âIs that so?â Kim stared at her, his gaze icy.
Seeing this, Annabel stood up and blocked Kimâs view. âKim, itâs about time. We should go.
âAlright.â Kim gave her a gentle smile, then turned to Alita and Jaydon, politely bidding farewell. âAlita, Jaydon, weâre heading out.â
âOkay,â Alita said with a faint smile.
Jaydon nodded with a sly smile.
Then, Kim and Annabel wolked out hand in hand.
Alita looked away, lost in thought. âThe contrast between memories and reality was striking. The memories were
beautiful, and Kim appeared so gentle and perfect. If only we never met, those beautiful moments from the past.
wouldnât be shattered like this.â
âRegret not catching him?â Jaydon noticed her disappointment, just a trace, but he felt a strong sense of jealousy.
âNot really. There are too many things in my life to regret. Thatâs nothing to compare.â Faced with his intense rage, she responded with a gentle smile, fragile and helpless.
She truly wanted to tell him that if she could spend the rest of her life with him in peace, there would be nothing *left to regret.
Jaydon still didnât believe she was completely indifferent to Kim. âIf youâre telling the truth, eat all the bananas I picked. Show me.â He took all the bananas from the floor and placed them in front of her.
Alita couldnât stand it anymore and asked, âJaydon, donât you know I hate bananas?â
