Chapter 66
It’s Too Late To Get A Divorce
Chapter 66
Alita didnât expect Samuel to change so quickly, and she was startled, âWhat do you want again? Let go of me, Samuel. You two-faced person!â Alita yelled. She had trusted Samuel so much, even to the point of arguing with Jaydon, and yet, Samuel treated her like this.
âStop shouting. If you donât want to attract everyoneâs attention, you better lower your voice,â Samuel calmly responded.
Recalling the series of schemes he had against her, the first attempt to forcefully kiss her, the second time not letting go of her at the charity event, and the third time assaulting her at the engagement party, made Alita furious to the point of wanting to kill him.
âSamuel, you despicable scoundrel! Why would you treat me like this? Do you think my life isnât miserable enough, so you want to step on me a few more times? I never believed it could be you, because in my heart, you were like a warm big brother without a dark side. But in reality, you are more detestable than those in the Lewis family who openly dislike me. Playing the role of a gentleman on one side and a dangerous and mysterious person on the other, molesting me while pretending to be a good person who comes to rescue me. Amusing yourself with this, huh? I never expected that even you would bully me like this Alitaâs heart ached for the collapse of trust. She felt her whole world turned gloomy. As Jaydon had said, to believe was to start losing. Alita thought she was too naive.
Samuel looked at her pained expression, and his heart ached as well. Suddenly, he lowered his head and kissed her.
âUgh. Alita pushed him in alarm, but his strength was overwhelming. Her tightly pressed lips were pried open by him, and his tongue entered her mouth, gently entwining with hers.
Alita was too panicked to think about whether she liked this or not. She bit down forcefully, and the taste of blood immediately spread. But even so, Samuel didnât release her, and the kiss remained unusually tender. This was the thing he had wanted to do the most in these 14 years.
Alita had never been afraid of Jaydon, but at this moment, she was afraid of Samuel.
Feeling Alita trembling and not responding to his kiss, Samuel finally released her. Placing his hands on the door, he lowered his head and gazed at her. âWant to know why I treat you like this? Because I love you.â
âW-what?â Alita stared at him in disbelief.
Samuel sneered. âIs it strange? Is it strange that I silently loved you for 14 years? I thought you could feel it.â
âI couldnât feel it, Samuel. You hid it too well, and it made me feel terrified.â Alita replied.
âTerrifying?â Samuel caressed her face with deep affection in his eyes. âI just canât bear to see you always cry. I canât stand to see you living in such pain, Alita. I want you to leave this ruthless place, the Lewis family, and live the life you want. Donât carry the burdens left by our elders. Youâre not obligated to live like this.â
Alitaâs eyes were filled with tears. âIf you understand my pain so well, why did you create so much trouble for me? What you did couldnât make me leave the Lewis family. Samuel, youâre just a cipher in this family. You canât compete with Jaydon.â
âAs long as you want to leave, you can definitely do it. Actually, I know you love Jaydon. Thatâs the reason you canât convince yourself to leave,â Samuel said, his eyes filled with pain.
Everything hidden in the depths of Alitaâs heart was exposed by him. She admitted calmly. âYes. I love him. Even though heâs an unforgivable scoundrel, my heart still feels sad and happy for him. My whole world was in his hands. I escaped for five years, thinking I could be free from his influence, but in reality, he still has that power.â
âIs it that hard not to love him?â Samuelâs heart sank after he heard her confession.

Chapter 66
âOur relationship is okay for now, although I donât know how long it will last. But I want to take a gamble. Perhaps, maybe, I can have a lasting relationship with him,â Alita said without confidence. She was walking on a tightrope, but the scenery on the other side was too beautiful. It was a place she really wanted to reach.
âAlita, youâre too naive. Youâll undoubtedly lose, Samuel said.
âWhether I lose or win, I just hope you wonât interfere anymore. In the end, youâre not a good person.â Alitaâs heart no longer held warmth for Samuel. All that remained was fear.
Samuel laughed, a low, pleasant sound. âAlita, one day, youâll realize who truly loves you.â
âThat sounds disgusting. Alita replied.
âIt doesnât matter if itâs disgusting. It just needs to be real. Alita, now that youâve discovered me, Iâll show you my true self when no one else is around.â Samuelâs eyes became deep and dangerous. He raised his hand, and the silver ring sparkled. âTI wear this every day from now on.â
âYouâre a psycho.â Alitaâs hair stood on end.
Samuel hugged her recklessly, his mouth near her ear. In a low, boarse voice, he said, âYouâre the only one in the world who knows this secret. So, you better obediently listen to me.â
âWhat if I donât?â Alita asked.
âIn that case, Iâll make you mine. I have always wanted that.â Samuelâs hand lightly traced over her back, carrying a hint of threat.
Alita pushed him away abruptly. âYou dare?â
âMen desire womenâs bodies. Whatâs there to dare? If you doubt me, you can try it now.â Samuelâs face lit up with a wicked grin, completely different from his usual refined and gentle demeanor. This transformed version of him seemed even more captivating.
Samuel took a step closer, and Alita immediately fled from his room. She rushed back to her own room with a pale face.
Jaydon seated sternly and asked, âWhere did you go?â
Alita, still shaken, didnât register his words at all.
âWhy are you breathing like that? Did you see a ghost outside?â Jaydon noticed something was off and patted her shoulder.
âAh!â Alita reflexively jumped away, turning to face Jaydon. She quickly composed herself and asked, âWhat did you just say?â
Jaydon didnât answer her question. Instead, he squinted his eyes. âAlita, where did you go?â
âI went for a walk in the garden,â Alita casually lied.
âWhy are you so frightened then?â Jaydon wasnât someone easy to deceive.
Thinking about Samuelâs warning, Alita came up with an excuse. âOh, itâs because of the caterpillars. I was walking under a tree, and suddenly a gust of wind blew, causing several caterpillars to fall from the tree. They all landed on my head, and I got scared. I ran all the way back, with goosebumps all over. Donât believe me? Look.â She rolled up her sleeves to show him. She thought, âOh, God. Let me get away with it this time.â
âCaterpillar? Those soft, squishy, green insects with lots of legs?â Jaydon vaguely remembered reading about them in a book,

and the thought alone made him feel disgusted.

âWow! You even know about them. Youâre really smart. Yes. Those are the ones. They all fell on my hair, scaring me to death, Alita said casually.
Jaydon stepped back a bit, pointing toward the bathroom. Go take a shower. Donât even think about getting into bed without cleaning yourselfâ
âBut the caterpillars are gone now,â Alita said..
âEven so, go wash. I donât want to sleep with a woman whoâs been attacked by caterpillars, Jaydon yelled.
Alita wanted to find a place to calm herself, so she walked into the bathroom with a seemingly reluctant expression. After closing the door, she leaned on the sink and took a deep breath. Then her expression became serious.
Next. Alita had another opponent to deal with. What made her even more distressed was that Kim and Annabel would be back tomorrow. It was indeed a spectacular situation, with pursuers behind, ambushes in front, and someone monitoring her in between. Alita thought to herself. Alita, just made up your mind and pretend they donât existâ
The next morning. Jaydon and Alita went downstairs. The hall was lively. Annabel was presenting gifts, and Kim stood there with a faint smile. When Alita saw him, her heart tightened.
âKim is back. Honey, letâs go over and greet them. Jaydon gave Alitaâs hand a strong squeeze to remind her.
They walked over, and Annabel immediately threw herself into Jaydonâs arms. âJaydon, Iâm back!â
âAlright.â Jaydon smiled indulgently. âWas it fun?â
âOf course, it was not only fun but also very sweet. You should take Alita to have some fun as well.â Amabel looked at Alita with a sly smile, her tone somewhat boastful.
Alita understood the underlying message.
âIf thereâs a chance, weâll definitely take a break together in the future and relax for a few daysâ Jaydon looked at Alita with an bright smile.
Kim, standing nearby, also caught the implied meaning. Some things didnât need to be explicitly stated. Everyone understood tacitly.
Kim quickly flashed a sarcastic smile and handed over a gift. âJaylon, Alita, this is specially selected by Annabel for you.â
âThank you. Youâre thoughtfulâ Alita smiled, calmly taking the gat
âDonât mention it. I hope you like it. Weâll live together in the future. If thereâs any oversight, please forgive us, Alita.â Kim smiled profoundly.
âOkay.â Alita responded softly, her heart feeling somewhat heavy
As someone descended the stairs, Annabel let go of Jaydon and greeted the newcomer with a charming smile, âSamuel, come here. I have a gift for you.â
Alitaâs heart sank when she heard the name.
Samuel walked over gracefully. âYou have a gift for me?â

âOf course, I specifically selected one for you. Here. Take it.â Annabel picked up a gift and handed it to Samuel.
âThank you. Annabel: Samuel smiled gently and, quite naturally looked at Alita. Then he said, âGood morning!â
Alitaâs knuckles turned white, and her heart beat extremely slowly âGood morningââ
âYou donât look good. Are you unwell?â Samuel asked with concern.
