She had given birth to Joe.

She could live without Isaac, but never without her son.

Laura sighed again, feeling exasperated with both of their frustrating love lives.

How come love had to be so complicated?

“Anyway, go ahead and take a shower. I'll go upstairs now. Call me if you need anything, okay?” Camila said as she stood up.

Laura nodded.

“Okay.”

After taking a shower, Camila tried to go to sleep, but she just tossed and turned all night. Finally, she got up and sat by the

window, looking at the moon in the sky.

Just then, the door was suddenly opened.

Hearing the door swing open, Camila turned her head in surprise and saw Isaac. She immediately stood up and walked towards

him, asking, “How’s Forrest?”

Isaac loosened his collar and replied, “He’s going to quit his job at the hospital to go back to his family’s company.”

Camila’s expression darkened. As a fellow doctor, she knew how much Forrest valued his career as a medical professional. It

must've been very difficult for him to just give it up for the sake of his family

“He can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs,” Isaac quipped, as though he knew what she was thinking about.

“Don’t worry about him.” “I’m not worried,” Camila said, helping him unbutton his suit jacket. Isaac watched her quietly. She

seemed a Little different today.

“Do you want to take a shower before going to bed?” she asked, oblivious to his observant gaze.

Isaac nodded.

“Let me run you a hot bath.” Then Camila headed for the bathroom.

But Isaac stopped her.

“Is there something bothering you?”

Camila smiled at him playfully.

“| don’t know. Is there?”

Truth be told, she just wanted to get along with Isaac now that she was willing to accept her feelings for him.

Isaac’s eyes lit up. Her affection made her even more attractive to him.

Without warning, he bent down and scooped her up into his arms.
