Camilaâs eyes widened in fear and astonishment as she saw the ladder looming above her head.
Just as the ladder was about to crush her, shout and saw a figure rushing towards her she heard someoneâs frantic
The next second, somebody pushed her a few paces away, and a deafening crash echoed across the room as the ladder hit the
floor.
Camila hurried to see the person who had saved her. And when she did, her face turned as white as a ghost.
It was Aldrin.
âAldrin!â
Trudy rushed over frantically, fearing for her sonâs well-being.
She lifted the iron ladder off him and picked up the unconscious boy.
âWake up, Aldrin,â she cried out, patting her sonâs cheek.
âYou're scaring me. Come on, open your eyes!â Trudy was spiraling into despair.
She only had one child, and she had pinned all of her hopes for the future on him.

If anything bad happened to her son, she would surely die. She had done and sacrificed so much for Aldrin, and she couldn't
lose him now!
âYou foolish child! Why would you save the woman who is trying to take your inheritance away?â
As for Camila, her knees were bleeding badly, but she paid it no mind. Instead, she took out her phone and called for emergency
services.
Then she limped over to check the severity of Aldrinââs injury. Trudy, however, thought that Camila would hurt her son, so she
immediately pushed the younger woman away and screamed at her face.
âDonât come closer! Donât hurt my son!â
Camila stumbled backward. She narrowed her eyes at Trudy and sighed.
âIf you donât want your sonâs condition to worsen, then let me take a look at him. Iâm a doctor. | won't hurt him.â
But Trudy only clutched Aldrin more tightly and kept blaming Camila.
âMy son wouldn't even be in this state if it werenât for you!â
âYou're the one who had the intention to harm me,â Camila pointed out casually as she got back to her feet.
âYour son simply got dragged into your scheme. Well, if you donât want me to check on him, then | won't insist. Just as well, if he
dies, | won't have to divide the inheritance with anyone else.â
Camilaâs words hit a nerve in Trudy. The matter of the inheritance was a sore spot of hers.
âYou vicious woman!â Trudy snapped.
