Chapter 915
Mistaken Marriage, Unexpected Love
She paused briefly before continuing, âYou know what? My father recently remarried and his new wife
has a son. My mother passed away less than a year ago and my parents were deeply in love. I
understand that my father canât live alone forever but I canât accept how heâs treating me. Since he
remarried, he doesnât even care about me, his own daughterâ¦â
The thought of returning home to find her belongings thrown away and her room occupied by her
stepmotherâs son filled Laura with shock and anger.
Her father had told her, âYouâre a girl and youâll get married someday. Besides, you donât come back
home often, so I let your brother live in your room.â
Laura was angry. The boy was not her brother at all. How could her father take care of someone elseâs
child?
Camila tried to console Laura by holding her in her arms but she was lost for words.
She could empathize with Lauraâs situation, having experienced similar struggles herself when her
father was with Trudy
âForrestâ¦â Laura bitterly spoke about Forrestâs infidelity.
âHeâs been fooling around with the daughter of the Yework Group, his motherâs chosen daughter-in-law.
And to top it off, sheâs pregnant with his child, so theyâll probably get married soon.â
Camila frowned and questioned, âCould it be possible that her mother had something to do with it
âIs it important?â asked Laura.
âOf course. If Forrestâs mother used tricks to get him to have sex with that girl, it might show that he is
unwilling to do it and does not want to betray you.â

Laura, on the other hand, took a deep breath and said, âIt doesnât matter anymore. Even though he
hadnât intended to do it, that woman was carrying his kid. Can he abandon it?â
Camila became silent.
Yes. The woman was now pregnant. Moreover, she was the woman Forrestâs mother preferred. His
mother would undoubtedly do everything to make him marry the woman.
âBut youâ¦â
For a moment, Laura stared at nothingness and kept silent before finally saying, âWe may not be
destined for each other. Fate played with us. He and I will never be together again.â
Hearing this, Camila couldnât help but sigh.
âMila, come drink with me. I have to show that Iâm still the tough Laura. I am not going to cry for him
and be miserable.â While speaking, she harshly wiped away her tears.
âYes! Letâs drink until we get drunk.â
Camila rose up and opened the door. When she saw Jaylen outside, she told him what she needed.
Jaylen quickly requested that her order be brought to her.
âAre you going to drown your sorrows in wine?â he asked.
âYou are free to go. Laura and I will leave later. You donât have to stay here all night long.â
Nonetheless, Jaylen was concerned about them. He replied, âWhat do you think will happen to you and
your friend if you get drunk and a lecher approaches you both? Iâll stay here, so you can rest assured
even if you get drunk.â
