Escaping my arranged marriage with Alpha Prescott by J Belladonna
Chapter 26
Matilda
âYou look tired, Matty,â Avery commented as we trained together. My father wanted me to practice after that poison incident, he wanted me to work hard to get my powers to their fullest extent.
My powers had healed me sooner than the doctors had expected. I couldnât sleep because Gabriel was still here and I knew that he was deliberately not taking his medication to stay longer.
âMy powers exhaust me sometimes,â I lied and sighed.
âI donât understand why youâre still not telling Alpha Prescott that he is your second chance mate,â she shook her head, annoyed by my reluctance.
âHe doesnât believe in fated mate sh it,â I told her bitterly, remembering our conversation. âPrescott might leave me if I tell him the truth. He thinks that the fated mates get so much power over you that they can destroy you.â
âI think heâll change once he realizes that youâre his fated mate,â Avery argued, bestowing her never-ending knowledge.
Sometimes it irked me when she advised me like an elder sister when she was younger, She was blessed with the superpower of visions and wisdom.
âFated mate? Have you found your second chance mate?â Dad scrutinized me and I shuddered in fear.
âNo, Dad. Even if I find my second chance mate, Iâll reject him,â I conveyed with determination.
âYou better do, Matilda. Alpha Prescott is the right mate for you. I donât want you to leave him after all this,â my father warned me. âAnyways, are you able to talk to your mom through your powers?â
âShe is not a witch, Dad. Chill,â Avery rolled her eyes.
âMy
powers arenât strong enough yet to be able to find Mom,â I told him in a low voice.
I didnât want to disappoint him so I tried hard to control my powers but they backfired on me because the right time hadnât come yet. I was forcing my way to get through my
powers.
âItâs okay. Donât take too much stress, Tila. Iâm here to protect you. Take your time in getting along with your superpowers. Iâve deployed my men to track her down,â

Prescott appeared out of nowhere and wrapped his hand around my waist before pulling me for a quick k*ss.
I put my hand on her rock-hard chest and my eyes skimmed over his sweaty six-pack abs. He looked smoking hot with his shirt off and wearing just track pants. He had returned from his training. I had deliberately chosen the spot where he wouldnât come to distract me but here he was.
My wolf was having d*rty thoughts in my mind. She wanted me to lick his se*y chest and bite his pierced niples. I licked my l*ps, wanting to be k*ssed by this S*x y G od.
âYouâre drooling, baby girl,â he taunted via the link.
I rolled my eyes and scratched his skin with my long nails. âF u*k you.â
âIâm ready to be u*ked, Silver. Please, f uck me, he smirked, flirting with me shamelessly.
Dad cleared his throat but he didnât let go of my waist. âThe council wants to see their King and Queenâs marking ceremony. All the Alphas are pressuring the elders to hold the ceremony.â
âWhatâs the problem? Why are they rushing over something trivial?â His brows furrowed.
Alpha Mason also came from training. âYour reputation is the problem, son. They think that you have forced the Princess to be with you. And since the Alphas had seen both of your n*ecks unmarked, their suspicions are justifiable.â
He scoffed and a deep frown etched on his face. âI donât give a f u*k about them. Iâm not holding any marking ceremony in front of the council just to prove to them that I didnât force my wife to marry me.â
His words stung my heart. He didnât want to mark me. He was too ashamed to accept me and mark me in front of the council.
Was Gabriel right? Will Prescott leave me after using me and discard me like trash?
âYou didnât marry her properly. No one was invited to your wedding either so itâs necessary to hold the marking ceremony to shut their mouths,â Mason told his son, trying to convince him.
âNo one has the guts to say anything to my face. I donât care what they say behind my back,â he declared in a low yet firm voice, his Alpha aura rolling off him.
âYouâre the King, Prescott. You have to care about your peopleâs opinions. They canât think of you as a cruel cold-hearted Alpha,â Mason growled, his Alpha aura emanating

Both the father and son were headstrong and defiant. None of them was ready to back. off.
âWhy havenât you marked her eyes at his son.
Do you even love her?â Mason asked, narrowing his
They mind-linked each other for a minute before Prescott walked away from there, letting go of me.
I went to my room, took a quick shower, and took my breakfast alone. He wasnât there and I didnât care if he ate or not. I wouldnât wait for him any longer.
âAlpha is calling you in the office,â Caleb informed me after knocking on my door.
âTell your Alpha if he wants to talk to me, come here himself. I wonât go anywhere,â I folded my arms and pretended to read the book.
âUm, okay. Iâll tell him,â he nodded his head and left.
âCan you do as I say for once?â He closed the door behind him with a loud bang and I jumped in my place.
He was a raging beast when he got angry which scared the s hit out of me but I acted. cool.
âIâm not your sla ve, Prescott,â I snarled at him. âYou canât summon me and expect me
to be there.â
âIâm not your master, Iâm your husband and Iâm very well aware of it. I wanted to show you something in my office. The women in my pack need their Luna so I was hoping that you would like to take over your duties now,â he explained with a cold expression.
I bit my l*p in embarrassment. I misunderstood him.
âYou could mind-link me. Why would you send your Beta to me as if youâre summoning a criminal?â I rolled my eyes, not wanting to admit my mistake.
âI was busy with work, Tila. My Beta is my best friend and I donât send him to run my errands. If I send him to someone, that person is important to me,â he spoke with an icy
tone.
âI wonât be surprised if you send him to sleep with me in your place,â the words came out of my mouth and I scowled to hide my fear and regret. I was too blunt. My tongue would be the reason for my death.
He growled and held my throat in an instant. âYou love to taste my patience and

provoke me, donât you?â
His eyes dipped to my n*eck, making my wolf excited in anticipation of being marked.
âYou love to insult me, donât you?â I mimicked his tone, staring into his misty gray eyes fearlessly.
His grip on my n*eck wasnât tight. He soon started massaging my n*eck and tore down my favorite floral dress with his other hand.
âWhatâs wrong, Silver? Why are you throwing a tantrum?â He asked, surprising me and. before I could respond, he started cupping my breasts whilst his mouth peppered my n*eck with hot k*sses.
The big bad wolf was getting soft instead of growling.
