I knew something was wrong the moment I woke up with a sharp pain in my heart and scars on my b*dy.
Before I could chase his scent, I felt morning sickness. I didnât eat anything last night after puking yet I was feeling nauseous.
âWhat on the earth is happening?â I muttered, clutching my pounding head in my hands.
The unsettling feeling caused me to get out of bed and find my mate. I followed his earthy oak scent and saw him f ucking his ex on the dining table.
âHow could you do this to me?â My voice was barely audible. His misty gray eyes met mine when my legs staggered and I held onto the wall which was so hot.
I had to control my emotions or else I might burn the whole apartment in my wrath.
Prescott left Lola and stepped toward me but I quickly ran back to my room and locked
the door.
Closing my eyes, I sat on the floor and let the tears stream down my face. Prescott didnât follow me so I had the solitude that I needed.
I wouldnât cry anymore. He wasnât worth my tears. F uck it. I didnât tell him that he was my fated mate because he would hate me but now, I was going to tell him and reject him right away after telling him the truth.
Wiping my tears off, I rose to my feet and went inside the washroom to take a hot shower.
When I came out of the washroom, I found Prescott waiting on the bed for me.
âWhy didnât you tell me about your sister killing my man?â He growled loudly. This man was unbelievable.
I scoffed and dried my hair after sitting in front of the mirror. âShe didnât kill him,â I said calmly.
Prescott started chuckling hard. âLola saw Avery killing that wolf so there is no need to lie. I already have the witness soâ¦âhis words remained in his mouth when I threw a comb at him.
âOf course, you will listen to your sl ut rather than your wife,â I shrugged off and walked

out of the room to get some fresh air.
âDo not provoke me, Tila,â he growled, not even bothering to hide his facade.
âWhat are these marks?â His eyes narrowed at my n*eck and I saw a small scar there in the mirror.
He lunged at me, grabbing my throat and pushing me against the wall.
âWho did this to you?â His eyes turned to the darkest shade of gray.
As if you care, you f ucking monster. I couldnât bear his touch though it made me feel. sparks but I pushed him away.
âNone of your business,â I spat after crossing my arms.
âWe have important news about Dylan so you better hurry up and move your as s with your husband,â Mom demanded authoritatively and before I could retort back, she cut. the link.
âI donât like to repeat myself,â Prescott growled again.
âMe neither,â I scowled, trying to go past him but he forced me back there.
âHave you found your second chance mate?â He asked venomously, furrowing his brows. The hatred was clearly visible in his
gray orbs.
I nodded my head simply. There was no point in hiding anymore. I wanted to reject him and leave him. I couldnât be with a man who kept lying to me, kept betraying me, and kept manipulating me.
âWhen?â He clenched his jaw, the muscle in his jaw working intensely hard.
you that
A rueful chuckle escaped through my mouth. âAre you for real, Prescott? Are stu pid to assume that Iâll reply to your every f ucking question after catching you f cking your sl ut.â.

âIt was just-â he couldnât finish as there was a knock on the door, followed by my Momâs low grunt.
âAre you taking your position and powers for granted, Matilda Spencer White? The enemy has initiated the war and you canât even attend the emergency meeting? Is this how you will protect our people?â Mom seemed so frustrated that I feared saying anything to her so I chose to just lower my head.
Prescott stood ahead of me, pushing me behind his back. My mom was astonished to see him doing that but she kept her mouth shut.

âHold, Camilla. This is not how you can talk to my wife. She is mine and I donât allow you to disrespect my wife,â Prescott surprised me again by taking a stand for me but it didnât matter to me anymore.

All of his goodness was just an act in front of everyone. I took an oath not to fall for him. again no matter what.
âIâm her mother so you canât tell me how I should treat my daughter,â My Mom scoffed. Her eyes searched for mine and stopped at my n*eck.
Her brows creased as she inspected my scars. âI would like to have some privacy with my daughter,â she firmly said and when he left, she closed the door behind my husband fiercely
âSure,â he gave her a slight nod and left the room.
Without saying anything, she pulled me in a warm hug and patted my back.
âWhy are you enduring this bullsh it? Prescott doesnât even know that he is your second chance mate?â Her calming voice made me feel at ease and I started crying, not wanting to suppress my emotions any longer.
âBecause Iâm not strong enough, Mom. The mate bond is too strong to let me leave him,â I muttered while sobbing.
âOh, my sweetheart. You have fallen in love with a monster. Youâre my Alpha daughter. Youâre stronger than any other she-wolf. Your love is your only weakness but I wonât let that asshole take advantage of you like that,â she said with determination.
I could sense that she was up to something that wasnât good for Prescott.
âHe knows that youâre his fated mate yet he is treating you like this. Cheating on you to give you scarsâ¦.â She shook her head in disappointment.
âNo, Mom. He is cursed not to feel the mate bond so he doesnât know,â the words sl*pped out of my mouth and I regretted it as soon as I saw a mischievous smile on her face.
âYou will show these scars to him and tell him that he is the reason for it. You will tell him that he is your second chance mate and then, you will reject him,â Mom smirked, pulling me in a tight embrace once again.
âDylan has offered a peace/truce only if you divorce your current husband and then marry him,â Mom replied.
