Matilda
His eyes flashed the darkest shade of grey for a second. He tightened his grip on Gabrielâs throat while looking me dead in the eye.
âStop, Prescott. For Goddessâs sake,â I screamed, stepping in between them.
âSec, she still loves me,â Gabriel smirked. The blood was dripping from his mouth and his face was swollen. Jericho had given him the right treatment but dogs never stop barking.
Prescott grabbed my elbow and dragged me out of the dungeon. âWhat the fu*k do you think you were doing there?â
His touch sent delightful shivers down my spine. There was nothing sensitive or romantic in the way he was holding me which hurt me more. His earthy oak scent was pulling me toward him though he didnât want me.
Why did the Goddess give me the mates who didnât want me?
âI donât like to repeat myself, Princess,â he muttered in a low voice that sent chills over
âI⦠I was tâ¦.trying to,â I stuttered as the pain in my heart was still carrying the weight of pain.
âYou were throwing tantrums and being stubborn before he came and now that you have seen him, youâre back to the pathetic girl who would do anything for her mate,â he spat, pushing me against the wall.
My b*dy shivered with fear of being hit. âI have rejected him,â I reasoned, defending myself.
Only if I was strong enough to tell him that he was my second chance mate but I knew very well that he wouldnât believe me. He had zero faith in me.
âWhatever you feel, I donât care, Matilda,â he warned me, leaning closer to me. âIâll not tolerate infidelity. Youâre my wife and chosen mate now so donât ever disrespect me again.â
Unfortunately, fated mate, too.
âI stopped you because I didnât want you to kill him like that,â I tried to explain but he scoffed and cut me off again.

âOf course, you want him alive,â Prescott said accusingly.
âTill I get my family. I donât trust him,â said 1, squeezing my fists tightly.
I turned and left from there. His proximity was affecting me too much. I was feeling dizzy and attracted to him. My wolf was jumping with joy, she was so horny and I didnât want to be blinded by lust so I chose to leave before I might k*ss him.
The previous k*ss was just an act to make Gabriel jealous but if I k*ssed him again now that we were mates, I knew that I would be torn apart and heartbroken again.
He pulled me back and held my chin in between his thumb and finger. I looked into his fuming eyes and swallowed a lump in my throat. My heart started hammering in my chest in anticipation of what he might do.
âDonât you dare ever turn your back on me,â he narrowed his eyes.
âRespect and trust should be mutual,â I dared to speak again though my b*dy was melting from the heat of his touch.
âI respected and trusted you when you k*ssed me. I didnât question you or remind you of the clause that you put in our contract,â Alpha Prescott said coldly.
His finger brushed over my bottom l*p. And my eyes fluttered, relishing the sparks that rushed through the bond.
Alpha Prescott was playing with my heart. His words were hurting me while his b*dy was making me want him. When he k*ssed me back, I felt that he also enjoyed the k*ss like I did. He would never know that he was my first k*ss but it meant nothing to him.
âIâm sorry. Iâll not break the rules again,â I lowered my gaze. I didnât want to look weak or pathetic in front of him.
âWhat if I broke the rule?â He challenged me. His pupils dilated as he stared at my l*ps.
It was just a game for him. I was done being a toy or sick game for men. With all the power I had, I pushed him off me.
Goddess. His scent was driving me insane. My wolf wanted to jump on him and devour him. She was imagining different ways to ravish this muscular cocky man.
He immediately grabbed both of my arms and pinned them behind my back with one. hand while his other hand tore my top. âNo one dares to stop me or question me.â
I gasped when the cool breeze caressed my n*eck. I was already feeling hot under his stern gaze. The way he checked me out, my breathing became heavier and slower.
His delicious l*ps crashed against my l*ps. I wasnât strong enough to deny what I was

feeling for him. Just when I was ready to k*ss him back, he pulled away and threw his hands in the air.
âYou didnât protest,â he smirked, âTold you, youâll beg me to touch you one day.â He shrugged before removing his shirt and offering it to me.
Although embarrassment washed over me, I accepted his shirt. I couldnât go back to my room like this.
âThat day will never come. I hate you, Alpha Prescott,â I muttered, turning my heels on.
âThe feelings are mutual, Princess,â he let out a wry chuckle that irritated me.
All the Alphas were the same. None of them were loyal to their mates. They always. loved the game of chasing; the moment they got what they wanted, they would move to their next prey.
Itâs better that he couldnât feel the bond or else he would have used it to torture me.
Closing the door to my room, I took a deep breath to calm my erratic heart that was thundering. I missed my mother so much. She would have taught me how to control my emotions and powers.
After the throne ceremony, I could feel the presence of some strange powers in my b*dy but I was unable to detect it. My motherâs lineage was blessed with some unique powers that no one knew about. It was a wellâkept secret of her family for centuries.
the door so I fixed my shirt that smelled of him, making me miss
There was a knock on him and want him more..
âAlpha asked you to take your dinner and medicines on time,â Serena smiled, holding
the tray.
I couldnât help but roll my eyes. One moment he would go all dominant and ruthless on me and the next moment, he would pretend that he cared about me.
âYouâre smelling of our Alpha,â Serena winked at me, teasing me.
Poor girl.
âIâm wearing his shirt so itâs obvious, you silly.â I scoffed and filled my mouth with grilled chicken.
âUm, I went to treat Gabriel as Beta ordered and he sent this letter for you,â Serena passed a crumbled paper to me hesitantly.
âDonât worry. No one will know of this,â I assured her and read the letter.

He wanted to meet me in private and tell me something. I quickly finished my dinner, took medicines, and waited for Serena to leave.
I silently went back to the dungeon. I had to know what that bastard wanted to tell me
now.
âAlpha has refused to let anyone in,â the guards tried to stop me.
âYour Queen commands you to step aside,â I used my royal command and he lowered his head in submission before obeying it.
âI knew that you would come,â Gabriel smirked. âFree me from here and Iâll make you my Luna. I know that you still love me, Matilda. I can see it in your eyes.â
âShould I claw your eyes out to make you believe that Iâm over you?â I spat coldly and folded my hands. âIf you have something to say, then, speak or Iâm leaving.â
âDo you have the guts to say it when Iâm just a few inches away from you?â He threw down the gauntlet.
I called the guard and asked for the key and opened the lock. When I was about to go inside, a formidable growl made me flinch.
âLock his cell again,â my mate ordered to the guards while his eyes threw daggers at me.
