Escaping my arranged marriage with Alpha Prescott Chapter 81
Escaping my arranged marriage with Alpha Prescott by J Belladonna
Chapter 81
Matilda
My heart thundered as I darted toward the secret ward that Prescott had set up for my mother. He had laced our hands together so I was practically dragging him along with me and he didnât seem to mind. I was grateful to him for opening up to me and sharing everything with me.
I knew that it was hard for him to share yet he went out of his comfort zone for me. Instead of pushing me away, he talked it out and I couldnât be more glad about it.
My legs staggered as I stopped in front of her bed and watched her feeble b*dy lying on the hospital bed. Her l*ps parted to speak something but they quivered and she pointed a finger at me, calling me closer to her.
Prescott let go of my hand when I looked at him with blurry vision. He nodded his head and offered me an encouraging smile.
Iâm here, baby. Go and talk to her, he said through the link, comforting me.
âMom,â I murmured, sitting on the corner of her bed. I couldnât believe that I was meeting my real mother after all those years.
âI saw you last time when you wer
six,â she uttered in a low voice, âYou have grown into a beautiful woman, Matilda.â She lifted her arm to hold my face and cup my cheeks.
Sadly, I didnât even remember when I had seen my real mother last. I took Beatrice as my mother, unaware of the tragedy she had caused my Mom. How could a twin sister be so hostile toward her own twin sister?
âIt feels like a dream to see you,â she said in a shaky voice, tears welled up in her eyes.
âI didnât even know you had a twin sister or I might have found you earlier.â I wiped her tears off and held her hands in mine, caressing them gently.
âItâs all my mistake. I should have been wise and strong enough to protect my children but I was too naive and st upid to believe my sister who always envied me,â she grimaced as the memories of her sister probably left a bitter taste in her mouth.
âBeatrice is too vile. It wasnât your mistake, Mom. Please, donât blame yourself,â I told her, my l*ps. splitting into a small smile.
âMom.â Averyâs voice reached my ears and I tilted my head to see her standing beside Prescott.
âAva, my sweetheart,â Mom motioned her to come over. I still had my childhood memories of Mom calling my little sister Ava. The pet name Beatrice never used, how could I miss it?
âIâm so sorry, my daughters. I should have been the one to protect you, not the other way around,â she expressed, pulling both of us in a warm embrace.

I couldnât hold myself any longer and started sobbing silently while hugging both of them. One hand wrapped around Avery whilst the other one was around Mom.
âCamilla,â Alpha Mason whispered in disbelief and we pulled away from Mom to let her see him.
âMason,â she said softly, rising from her bed.
âStay. Lay there, Camilla. You arenât healed properly yet,â Alpha Mason raised his voice, almost commanding her to stay on the bed. The air around us suddenly charged with tension as none of them spoke further but kept their gaze locked with each otherâs as if their eyes were talking.
Prescott cleared his throat, pushing his hands back and the muscle in his jaw started working. âLet them have their private family time,â he suggested, shooting a glare at his father.
Something was going on between them and as much as I was tempted to find it out, I didnât want to leave Mom alone right now so I opted to talk about it with my mate later.
âI wonder where this b asta rd has gone. The f ucker couldnât even notice the difference between his fated mate and her evil twin sister,â Mason snarled, clasping his fists at his side.
my
I didnât need to ask who he was talking about. He had been trying to find the whereabouts of father since the day he had gone missing but it irked him that he left us alone when we needed him the most.
Although Lola disguised herself as my father, there was still no clue about where he was. I wondered if Dylan or Lola had something to do with it but my mate pointed out that if they had my father, they would have blackmailed me by now.
âSheldon is innocent. Mason,â Mom snapped at him, surprising all of us. âNo one could tell the difference the dark magic had only swapped our souls, not bodies. Iâm trapped in Beatriceâs b*dy. The scent, mark, even my wolf isnât mine and it disgusts me but it is the truth.â
âEven you couldnât tell that it was Beatrice, not Camilla,â Prescott agreed with my mother and earned a death glare from his father who let out a low growl in frustration.
âIâm sorry for the interruption but I heard the voices,â Zach rushed inside and checked my motherâs pulse. âItâs not good to make her angry. She has suffered through a lot of mental trauma. Right now, she is fine because of the dose of the heavy herb meds but if you will cause her distress, she might go back into her past stateâ¦â Doctor Zach warned us, leaving the threat open.
âOh,â Camilla excalimed. âThatâs why Iâm able to speak. I was surprised when I found myself talking because I hadnât spoken to anyone in the past decade. Itâs not that I didnât want to⦠I just couldnât speak after Dylan tried to sacrifice my wolf with his dark magic spell but luckily, Beatriceâs wolf had always been stronger than mine to his spell failed and I ended up in a mentally distraught state.â
Mom explained everything and it made sense why she was reluctant to come with us when we went. there to rescue her.
âI will f ucking kill that bi tch, I muttered through gritted teeth as my blood simmered in my veins.

âI apologize for interrupting but itâll be better if we take care of the patientâs mental health and not get too much worked up or cause any distress,â Zach pleaded with his eyes.
âNothing wrong will happen to her,â Owenâs chilling aura permeated the room and all the eyes turned to him. âYet, as everything comes at a cost, we must relinquish something to attain what we seek. The weight of his words made my breath stuck in my chest, I wasnât having a good feeling about this.
