I went back into the club to look for Adeline but she was nowhere to be seen. I took my bag from the table I left it before 1 went to dance.

I sent a text to Adeline.

To Adeline: Where are you? I’m on my way home so text me when you get this message or call me.

Heft the club. I stopped a taxi and got into it. I told the taxi driver my house address. All I wanted to do for the night was sleep and forget all that happened.

What was Logan even doing at the club and how did he find me I couldn’t help but wonder.

“Was he stalking me?” I muttered to myself.

“It couldn’t be.” I shook my head.

I was grateful to him regardless for coming to my rescue and I wondered about Jade. If he was married to Jade then why was he at the club?

I shook my head, refusing to get curious about his life because he was my past and he should remain there.

I got home shortly, I went straight to my kid’s room to see that they were sleeping. I placed a kiss on their forehead each before going to shower.

I came back to my room and slept.

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I groaned in annoyance. “Who is it?”

I stretched my arms to her my phone.

“Hello. Isabel on the phone,” I spoke.

“Isabel, you will not believe what happened to me and where I found myself, and I’m not kidding at all,” Adeline said.

“Do you know what the time is?” I asked, sounding irritated when I realized that it wasn’t even a morning year.

“Oh well, I’m a changed person,” I shrugged with a smile on my face.

“That’s good to know but sadly you won’t have to come early anymore,” Leah stated as she took her seat.

I creased my brows in confusion. “What do you mean?”

“People says the successful ones are bound to move around and that’s honestly true. I am honestly happy for you Isabel. It pains me to see you leave but it’s for the best and it’s for a year is good news because you are being paid more,” Leah said.

Her words confused me because I didn’t understand what she was talking about or where she was heading.

That’s good news but somehow I didn’t feel excited about it.

Being a personal chef meant more money and more freedom but something didn’t feel right.

“Can you enlighten me?” I requested.

“Well, here is the good news. You are going to be a billionaire’s chef and you will be getting three times the amount you usually get paid, isn’t that great?” She said excitingly.

“You don’t look happy?” She remarked almost immediately.

“Am I supposed to be? I mean I should be. This is a great deal but how come?”

“How come! They love your meal. You have a gifted hand Isabel and that’s why he wanted you. He made the call last night. It was past midnight when he made the call. I was surrounded. He said he’d be paying three times the amount to have you over,” she informed me.

“And then you said yes? You could have consulted me about it first before making decisions on my behalf, I countered.

“Isn’t this what you have always wanted Isabel? What are you talking about? I am your agent and I would only want the best for you and this right now is a great deal. I know I should have consulted you but I thought it was a great deal and that’s why I did what I had to do, she replied.

I bit on my bottom lips an act I usually do whenever I am in deep thought. She was right. I shouldn’t be happy about this.

“Yes, it is. I already brought the contract and he has paid ahead although I told him not to so all you have to do is sign here.” She handed the contract over to me to sign

I signed where needed because I trusted Leah. She is the best agent. I wouldn’t trade her for anything.

After signing, my eyes scanned through the contract and something caught my eye. At first, I thought I read it wrongly until I saw it again.

The name, Logan Smith was boldly written in the contract.
