The Alpha Abandoned Bride
Chapter 13
ISABEL
âIsabelâ
I turned towards the direction of where I heard my name.
âTim.â I called back in surprise.
Itâs been over a week since I last saw him. âYou are back. I remarked.
âYes. I returned this morning and decided to get some groceries How have you been?â He asked.
Tve been good. Itâs nice to see you again and thanks for the other day.â I said.
âYou donât have to thank me. Itâs fine and Iâm glad to help. Grocery shoppingâ He asked and I nodded my head.â
âThatâs great then. We can get stuff together then.â
We got what we wanted and he offered to pay for me but I decljed. I canât keep accepting his help all the time for he has helped me a lot.
âDid you come with your car?â Tim asked.
âNo, I didnât. I donât know why I got the car when I hardly drove it, I chuckled.
Then you shouldnât have gotten it,â Tim replied.
âBut I get that feeling and good for me. I will be able to take you home so hop on,â he suggested.
âYou donât have to. I told him.
âI insist.â
I
got
into his car and he drove me. âThe other day I took you somewhere else so where is this new place? Did you change house perhaps?â
I shook my head. âThe other day, you drove me over to my friends place. This time, you are driving to my place,â I answered.
âOh, now I see. So why didnât you let me drive you over to yours the other time?â
âIt was because my kids were over at hers.â I answered.
He seemed surprised by my answer. âYou have kids? As in not one but two?â
âYes. Twins A boy and a girl. Ethan and Emma,â I answered.
âWow. I didnât expect that. I never thought you were married,â he remarked.
Ishook my head. âIâm not married.â
âYou are not? I hope you donât think Iâm intruding, where is Father?â
âHe and I are no more,â I answered.

âHow old are your kids?â He asked.
They are four years old,â I replied.
âWow. Iâm sure they look just as beautiful as their mother,â he remarked and I smiled.
âThank you,â I said.
âSo you recently parted with their father or?â
I wasnât sure why I was answering him but I didnât see the need not to after all it wasnât like there was anything to hide.
âWe never got married. Heâs an ex and he doesnât know I have kids. Iâve been raising them myself,â I said, feeling proud of how far Iâve come.
âWow. Thatâs good then. It means you are single and ready to mingle right?â
I curled my lips to the side. âI never said that. Single, yes. Ready to mingle, Iâm not sure and why did you say that?â
He shrugged instead. âWe are here.â
I looked around to realize that we were indeed at where I lived. âThanks for the ride and for every other time you come to help me,â I said to him.
âYou are welcome,â he replied.
I got out of the car. âYou donât have to,â I said to Tim as he tried to get my groceries for me.
âLet me help you carry them,â he said as he took all my groceries with him.
âThank you,â I uttered, following him behind.
âYou have a beautiful place,â he said as we entered my apartment
âThanks,â I replied.
Just then my kids ran up to me. âMummy. Mummy. They both called simultaneously as they came towards.
I went on my knees and wrapped my arms around them. âMy lovely babies,â I placed a kiss on their cheek each.
âIndeed they are lovely, Tim remarked behind me.
âOh, thanks,â I replied, getting back on my feet.
âThese are my kids. Ethan and Emma,â I introduced.
Emma, Ethan, say hi,â I said to them and they did as told.
âSheâs so cute and she looks exactly like you. A complete replica, Tim remarked.
âYes, she does,â I replied.
âAnd he looks familiar. Like Iâve seen him somewhere,â he said as she stared at Ethan, and I was reminded that he had seen Logan before.
Anyone who sees Ethan and knows Logan would know that Ethan was his.
âOh, my goodness. He looks like him, Tim stated and I knew who he was referring to.

âWow.â He muttered.
âThanks so much for the help. I will drop this at the kitchen and then see you off,â I said, collecting groceries from his hands.
I returned shortly after dropping the groceries in the kitchen. âMom will be back shortly, okay,â I said to my kids before walking out with Tim..
âDonât,â Tim said just as I was about to say something.
âYou donât have to tell me how grateful you are. Youâve said that like fifty times already,â he replied.
I let out a small laugh. âYou canât predict you know. I wasnât going to say that
âReally?â His lips curled into a smile.
âSo what were you going to say? Kindly enlighten me.â
âOkay you caught me,â I replied.
âGood.â
âI will leave you now and return now,â I said.
âIsabelâ
I halted on my track when I heard my name. Iturned to look at Tim
âWhat?â
âYour kids. They are beautiful and I donât know what happened between you and that man but you are doing great,â he said and I smiled.
He walks closer to me.
âWould like to go out sometimes? We could just catch up and all you know. Iâd like to get to know you, Isabel. And th you give me the opportunity to.â

I bit on my bottom lip I wasnât sure of what to expect but he hasnât been a bad person. The night I first saw Logan, he was the one who helped me, and the other time I saw him, he came through for me again.
Today he helped me and he doesnât seem like a bad person. âAlright.â
âTake care, Isabel. I will reach out to you,â he said before entering his car.
I watched as he left before going back into the apartment
The next day, I decided to go see Leah and speak to her. The last time we smiled parted on bad terms and I didnât feel good about it. Recalling my last conversation with Leah reminded me of my last conversation with Logan.
He confessed to wanting me and it only made me angry. I sternly warned him to stay away from me as I didnât want him, to walk away without turning back.
Ever since he came back, all he has done was open wounds that werenât healed and worsen the pain.
âI donât want to speak to you Isabel. I already made it clear. Our conversation is over,â Leah said the minute I stepped into her office.
âCan you at least listen to me first before you conclude,â I said to her as settled on the chair opposite her

Chapter 13
âThere is nothing to talk about. You are going to work forâ¦
I cut her off. âLeah please listen.â
âWhat is it?â
I sighed. âGood. I came here to talk but before you say anything, listen to me first please.â
Alright, go on.â
âI donât like how things went between us two days ago. It was the first and I felt bad. Leah, you have been my culinary agent for a long time and you have been the best. I know that you only want the best for me and Iâve not been transparent lately and Iâm sorry for that.â
I paused before I continued speaking. It might take a little while, but I will tell you soon after all youâll find out the truth someday, I will work for Mr Smith. Iâm sorry to make you feel that way about me, it was never my intention.â
I waited for her to say something but she didnât so I continued.
âI just wished you actually told me about it and I was properly aware before the conclusion. I was the one who signed the contract. I shouldnât have done what I did and so I apologize. I donât want to ruin the relationship that we have.â I explained
to her.
âItâs fine. I shouldnât have said the words I said that day. Itâs fine if you donât want to tell me what it is that you are going through but at least put the business first. This is business Isabel and any personal feelings should come later, she finally spoke.
âItâs good that you came to your senses I also donât want to run the relationship that we have. So since we have concluded concluded the whole issue youâd begin working for Mr. Smith next week.â
âNext week?â I voiced out in shock.
âYes,â she replied.
âNext week as in two days? You mean two days later?â I was beyond shock.
