Chapter 35

ADELINE

I had been waiting for a taxi for more than fifteen minutes and now I was starting to get tired. I just wanted to go over to Isabel’s place and sleep.

That’s my second house and I had my clothes over there for days I don’t go home and have to go to work from her place. I ran my finger through my hair, hoping patiently for a taxi to come by.

“Adeline.” Someone called my name.

A cane packed in front of me, wounding down its glass. In that car was Tim.

“Adeline.” He called again, waving at me.

“Hi. Tim. I waved back with a smile on my face.

“Where are you heading to? Hop on and I’ll drop you,” he said.

1 walked towards his car, opened the door, and got in. “Thanks so much. You are a love saver. I’ve been waiting for a taxi for over twenty minutes and trust me standing hasn’t been easy coupled with the fact that I’m hungry and sleepy, I complained.

“I’m glad I came to the rescue. He replied and I chuckled.

Where are you headed to?” He asked as he began to drive.

“To Isabel’s,” I answered.

“Alright then. To Isabel’s it is.”

“How have you been? I mean I haven’t seen you for some days now. You know I’ve been meaning to speak to you.”

“Me?” I pointed at myself

“About what?” I questioned.

“I’ve been meaning to speak to you about Isabel. I mean I’m sure you already know that I like her and want to be with her. I don’t care if she has two kids already but I like her and I want to be in her life.”

I cooed at his bold confession. “Of course, I know of your feelings for my best friend. So what kind of help would you like?

“I want to be Isabel’s man. For some reason, I feel she’s holding back. I know that she might have her reasons and maybe she’s still thinking about it but it would be nice for you to help. A this point, I feel you are the only one who can convince her to give me a try as fast as I expect.”

He sounded sincere and I could tell he liked her. He wanted her regardless of her children.

“Alright. I will help you speak to her.”

“Thanks so much. I want her. I am willing to do anything to make her happy. She makes me happy. I haven’t been that happy in a long time. I love her so much.” He uttered.

I was surprised by his confession. He just confessed to being in love with Isabel. “Oh my goodness!”

“Are you serious?”

“I didn’t realize I blurted that out,” he said.

“You just did and I am over the hills for my best friend. I will make sure to speak to her so I’m curious to know your plans for her. What will you do for lier once you guys are together and what are your plans for the kids too?” I asked.

“I want to marry her. I just don’t want to be in her life for a short while. I want to be with her and take care of her and her kids. I just want to be happy with her. I’ve never been that happy with anyone in a long time.” He confessed,

I was honestly moved by his confession and words that at the same time I couldn’t help but be bothered. I have never been jealous of Isabel and I will never be and my thoughts weren’t coming from a place of jealousy.

1 felt things were moving fast. He just confessed to being in love with her and also wanting to marry her. I found something strange about it. I mean they just met and things haven’t gotten that far.

Or maybe he had fallen for her.

“I have been worried about something though

Or rather someone.” I snapped out of my thoughts from hearing Tim’s voice again.

“What is it?” I asked.

“I’m worried about Isabel’s ex. I mean don’t get me wrong. I’m not scared of him. I am not happy that he keeps coming isn’t and threatening her. I also know he’s the twin’s father and one day he’s going to want to come for custody when he finds out but I want to deal with him before that time.”

exhaled deeply. “So what do you plan to do?”

“I want him away. I can tell that Isabel is honestly bothered by him. He is everywhere. He keeps appearing and making promises. I don’t know but I can tell that he’s dangerous. I want him to be far away from my woman and the kids as far as possible.”

“I appreciate you caring about Isabel and the baby. I honestly have no idea what you can do to Logan but it would be nice if you focused on taking baby steps with Isabel and win her heart and don’t worry, I will speak to her and convince her too.” L assured him.

“Alright. Thanks so much.” He said.

I reached Isabel’s place soon later. I came out of the car. “Thanks so much. I appreciate your help.” I said.

“I will come back later this night and I hope you’ve said something,” he smiled.

He waved before driving off.

“What is it?” Isabel asked as she sat beside me on the couch.

“Are the kids sleeping already?” I asked.

“Yes. My day has been stressful and you don’t want me to get started on it. I don’t even know what to do,” she sighed.

“What do you mean?” I creased my brows.

“What is it that you want to talk to me about first? You’ve got to tell me. You’ve been promising to tell me but ends up not doing so and that’s why now is the best time for you to let me know,” she remarked.

“Firstly, what are you feeling for Tim? Do you like him and do you see yourself with him?”

I didn’t fail to notice as she leaned towards the couch, resting firmly on it. “And why did you decide to bring this conversation up?”

“I don’t know,” I shrugged.

“I just want to know what’s on your mind. I mean he had been showing his intentions and it’s obvious he wants to keep which he already informed you about but I honestly want to know how you feel about it.” I said.

*Tim is a cool guy. I mean he’s direct and open and someone who is nice but I’m honestly not sure. I want to open up and let him in but I’m not sure at the same time,” she sighed.

“How are you not sure? I mean you said it yourself that you want to give it a try so what’s stopping you now all of a sudden?”

“You what?” I was genuinely inquisitive to know what she had to say.

I wanted to know what she felt and if she didn’t want to be with him then I have no issues and would stand by her side. I’d support her and if she wants him she has my support too.

“I kissed Logan. I mean we had sex and then we kissed. I mean we kissed, had sex, and then kissed,” she blurted and I gasped. in surprise.

To say I was surprised would be an understatement because I was more than that. I couldn’t believe it. She had sex with the

“How and why? When and who initiated it and were you drunk? Did he take advantage of you?” I didn’t even know what to

say. I was honestly surprised.

“It’s crazy but I had sex with him and today we kissed. I don’t even know what’s wrong with me. It’s crazy. A lot has happened, she confessed.

“Oh my goodness! You had sex with two twins dad? So how was ? Did you like it or not and is it bothering you?” I couldn help but ask.

“Do you want to know how crazy it’s driving me? Then I’ll tell you. I had sex with him and I don’t regret it. I love it and 1 cannot help but want more and then he kissed me and I allowed it. I don’t even know but at this point, I’m scared he got me just where he wanted me to be.” She said all in our breath.
