“How is he?” I asked my men as soon as I stepped into the room where Jade’s father was held captive.

“He’s not in a bad state. We’ve only deprived him of food and water.” My men answered.

I nodded my head in understanding before going to see Jade’s father for myself.

He was still properly tied to the chair he was seated. It was just three days and it was evident he wasn’t feeling comfortable. I haven’t seen this man this way.

I heard him utter all words of insult at me but I didn’t turn to look at him. I don’t have time to entertain him and he’s on his own. Whatever he wants to do, he can do.

I went over to my mansion to see Jade. The minute she saw me, she smiled, opening her arms to hug me but I refused for her to come close.

“I knew you’d come back home one day. What did I tell you?” Jade said, excitement laced in her tone.

“I know right? This might just be the last time you have the chance to come close to me, don’t you think?” I remarked.

I didn’t fail to notice her brows crease. “What do you mean?”

“You haven’t heard from your father, have you?” I asked and she shook her head..

“Good. Do you want to see your father or you don’t care about him?” I asked again.

She scoffed, folding her arms across her chest. “If you are here to bargain with me then you don’t have to. I won’t change my mind. I won’t be asking you to look for my dad again because I refuse to divorce you. I will find someone else to do that.”

“It seems you don’t care about your dad then. I hope the next time you see him, you won’t see his dead body because it seems you don’t care,” I stated.
