“So have you thought about it? Your birthday wish?” Sean asked and I felt his stomach rumbled in joy but at the same time nervous because I didn’t think I had it in me to confess what I truly wanted.

“How about the wish you want me to grant for you? Maybe we can start with that I cleared my throat not wanting to thin the mood at first and letting things move smoothly.

“Alright but before we get right into it. How about I have this dance? I’ve been wanting to dance with you all night so let’s dance first and we’ll speak afterward, what do you think?” He remarked.

He then stretched his arms forward. “Oh, I’d love to,” I replied a smile on my face before taking his hands.

We began to dance but with no music playing in the background. It was as if our heads were singing the same song although we didn’t sing out loud and we danced to the song.

It was peaceful and relaxing and we moved accordingly. I rested my head on his shoulder as we danced. I felt safe. This was the closest I’ve been with him considering how I felt I couldn’t help but think that he might like me too.

Maybe I was overthinking it but with the attention and effort he’s putting on, it’s evident that there’s something he feels for me but I hope it won’t be something that would break my heart.

After we were done dancing, Sean pulled back, put his hands in his pocket, and brought out a red velvet box.

“Although you wouldn’t say what you want for your birthday, I knew I still had to bring something regardless,” he said.

He opened the box, revealing a silver necklace with my name on it.

My eyes gleamed at the beauty in front of me.

“Accept this little gift from me,” he said.

“It’s so beautiful. Thanks so much!” I uttered in happiness, I didn’t know how else to express how glad I was that he got this for me. I didn’t think he’d do that.

“Can I put it on for you?” He asked.

1 nodded my head in excitement before turning to back him. I felt as if he took a fistful of my hair to the other side. I shuddered from his fingertips coming in contact with my skin.

My lips parted from the tantalizing feeling. He put the chain on my neck and to my surprise, he placed a small kiss on my bare back making me freeze.

“Happy birthday Emma,” he whispered.

Did Sean just kiss me? Why would he do that? Does he like me? Oh my goodness! I couldn’t help but think of the possibility that Sean liked me. I didn’t know just what to think about it.

Why did he kiss me? Does he like me the way I like him to if that’s the case then I might as well pass out from the surprise.

I slowly turned to look at him still in shock at what had happened while trying not to show any reaction.

“I like you!” I blurt out before I realized and I slapped my mouth with my palm.

I didn’t just do that. I felt st upid for speaking without thinking.

Oh my goodness! I shouldn’t have said anything but the shock and emotions I felt at that moment made me speak without thinking.

“What did you say?” Sean asked.

“Uhm…” I trailed off not knowing if I should admit that I liked him or just change the topic but that would only ruin it all after all 1 do like him and I planned on confessing my feelings for him but I wouldn’t want to ruin the night and make the

situation worsen.

“What do you want me to grant for you as a wish?” I asked, deciding not to speak about my feelings because I thought it would be best for us to get close to each other so when I end up confessing it doesn’t look awkward.

“You want to know what my wish is?” He asked and I nodded my head.

“Yes, I do want to know what it is so come on speak. If it’s something I can grant then I’d grant it and if I can’t then I don’t know how we’d do it. I explained.

He chuckled lightly. “What do you mean by that? If it’s a wish to be granted then you should be able to grant it so tell me why you aren’t going to grant it if you can’t!”

“What if it has to do with me committing murder? Trust me when I say that I won’t be doing any of that, I don’t want to do something crazy so it would be best for you to ask something easy so it’s granted.” I replied.

“Oh Em, what I want is more than what you think and it’s not hard. At the end of the day it has to do with you and not to kill someone’s, he curled his lips to the side.

With the way you speak, you make it hard to believe that you have no bad intention,” he remarked.

“It’s not hard that I can assure you. So will you grant my wish?” He asked.

I took in a deep breath as I thought deeply about it. Should I do it or should I not? I had no idea what I should do about it. I wanted to know what he wanted after all it couldn’t be bad but with the smirk on his face, I felt like he had something mischievous in mind.

I couldn’t have asked him to grant my wish for me but I didn’t have the courage and I’m not ready for it yet so I op grant his only for him to make me feel worried.

“Okay. What is it that you want?” I asked.

He smiled. His smile melted my heart. His smile could make my whole day go well. I love how he smiles. I wanted to him how much I loved it when he smiled but I didn’t.

“Close your eyes,” he said.

I furrowed my brows in confusion. “What does me closing my eyes have to do with granting your wish?”

“Just close your eyes Em. You will find out what it is when you close your eyes but if you don’t close it then you won’t be able to grant it. He replied..

It sounded suspicious because why did I have to grant his wish by closing my eyes?

“So all I have to do is close my eyes and open them right? That’s your wish? What a weird wish you have.” I remarked.

“You won’t be opening your eyes after you close it. You have to wait for me after you close your eyes and besides if you want to grant a grant for me why are you making it difficult for me to make a wish? You have to be calm,” he stated.

“I am calm. I’m just wondering what wish has to be this complicated and not direct. I mean you want me to grant your wish and ask me to close my eyes? How do I do that with my eyes closed?

“You can only find out with your eyes closed so instead of being tubborn why don’t you close your eyes or maybe you don’t have an intention to grant my wish,” he remarked and I shook my head.

“Alright then. I will close my eyes,” I said to him before closing my eyes.

“Is this time?” I exhaled deeply.

“Yes, it is. Don’t open your eyes okay? Just keep them close,” he said and I nodded my head in understanding, waiting patiently for him.

I heard his footsteps coming towards me. I could feel his presence all over me and I was tempted to open my eyes but because I already said I’d close my eyes was the reason I didn’t open it.

What was taking him so long? I thought to myself then I felt him hold my hands, I was startled a little by his touch. Just as I opened my eyes feeling agitated, he placed his lips on mine taking me by surprise and I froze from shock.

Oh my goodness! Did Sean just kiss me?

I stood frozen in shock when his lips came in contact with mine wondering what was going on and if truly he was kissing me and I wasn’t hallucinating but I wasn’t.

Sean was kissing me and the moment I snapped out of my state of shock, I kissed him back. Fireworks exploded in the pit of my stomach from the kiss.

I shuddered from the kiss. It started softly but slowly, he pulled me towards me, kissing me and I kissed back..

Slowly, he pulled back from me but rested his forehead against mine as we caught our breath.

“Is… is that your wish?” 1 spoke up not liking the silence that commenced afterwards.

“Yes,” He replied.

“And I’ve been wanting to do that for a long time.” I was surprised by his statement.

“You’ve been wanting to do it for a long time?” I couldn’t help but ask.

Ein. I’ve been wanting to do it and couldn’t but today I did in That’s the wish I wanted you to grant for me.” he explained.

Oh my goodness! Does this mean that he has been crushing on me for a long time? Does this mean he also likes me too? I couldn’t believe it. I just couldn’t think properly.

I decided to ask him to know for myself.

“Do you…”

“Emma! Are you in there?” It was my brother Ethan and his voice made me startled.

“Emma” He called again and to avoid him from entering, I replied.

“Yes!”
