Sean furrowed his brows in confusion as he had no idea what Ethan was talking about and where this conversation was leading.

“What’s happening?” Sean asked.

“Let me talk… please.” Ethan said.

“I was a jerk to you. I am sorry Sean. I shouldn’t have done what did but I did and for that, I’m a jerk. You confessed to liking Emma and because I was against it, I threatened you with our friendship and did all I could in my power to make sure that you were both depressed that wasn’t because of you but it was because of me and I’m the problem. I wish I didn’t do so but I did and I’m sorry.” Ethan uttered.

Sean was surprised to hear Ethan say all of this as it has always been hard for Ethan to apologize and he wondered what could have happened for Ethan to suddenly apologize for his actions.

The reason Sean has not gone ahead to confess his feelings for Emma despite liking her for a long time and having to avoid her is because of Ethan. He didn’t want to ruin their relationship and he thought that if he was to date Emma, he should at least have her brother’s support as it would make their relationship better.

The reason he has been discreet about his outings with Emma is because he has yet to tell Ethan and he does have plans to do so soon. He has been thought of how to go about the conversations as he doesn’t like to do things in secret and feels it would be wrong for him to be with Emma in secret as she is not to be hidden and she’s to be shown off.

“I am here telling you right now that I’m sorry for being selfish and wanting things my way. I know you still have feelings for my sister and right now I’m telling you that you are free to go after her. If you want Emma, then go for her as I’d be here smiling and cheering you up.” Ethan said.

Sean couldn’t believe it. This was what he wanted and he had thought of how to go about it but Ethan had just made it easy for him. Ethan was giving him his blessings to go for his sister and it made him so happy.

“Since you already approve that I can be with Emma then I want to let you know that Emma and I are dating already he revealed but Ethan wasn’t surprised by that as he suspected something might be going on between them after they saw at the park the other day in school and he had looked at Emma for permission.

“Not really but I kind of suspected,” he replied.

“Oh. And you aren’t mad that we were doing it behind your back right?” Sean asked and Ethan shook his head.

“Not at all. I don’t have an issue with that. I mean I just told you that it’s fine if you want to date my sister and since I already suspected it doesn’t matter. The both of you have my full support.” He tells him.

Sean heaved a sigh of relief. “That’s good to hear and thanks once again. I’m guessing Emma already knows then.”

Ethan shook his head. “Sadly she doesn’t know but I will need your help a little.”

“With?” Sean asked.

“So as it is. Emma isn’t happy w me. I did a lot of things against her and she doesn’t like me as a brother for her and wishes we weren’t related I’d be lying if I said that her words didn’t hurt and better than that I want to make things right with her, will you help me?”

“Well, I understand Emma. I don’t think she dislikes you. She’s just angry at you that you want to control her life and tell her what to do. She feels you are doing too much so now that you’ve done this, if you tell her how sorry you are, I’m sure she’d have no problems with you again,” Sean tells him.

“Are you sure about this?” Ethan asked and Sean nodded his head.

“I mean she’s your sister and you know you know that she doesn’t hold any grudge. Just tell her how you feel and that’s it. I will help you if you want.” Sean suggested.

“That’s great then, Joe that I’m done with you than unto the next Ethan remarked.

Chapter 91

Both boys seemed to be in a good mood and they chatted for long as the best friend that they were.

Later that evening when Ethan got home, he went to his sister’s room. He felt it was best he spoke to her and clear the air. He didn’t like how the relationship between the both of them had been for days.

He took in a deep breath and exhaled as he stood in front of her room. “It’s alright Ethan. You can do it.” He said to himself before knocking gently on her door.

“Who is that?” Emma asked.

“It’s me,” Ethan replied but Emma said nothing afterward so he took it as his cue to go

“You seem busy,” Ethan cleared his throat, stating the obvious.

She already gave up on her brother changing and being a better person and that’s why she didn’t think he had anything good he wanted to say.

“I’m not going to leave here until we have a conversation and no we didn’t use a conversation about this. I know I’ve been jerk. I know you don’t want me here and you can’t stand my presence but I haven’t felt good knowing that you dislike me, Emma.”

“I’ve been a jerk to you. I treated you badly. Made you angry and felt that was me doing what’s best for you without asking you what you thought was best for you and the past few days had me thinking deeply

“I’m sorry Emma and I’m not just saying it because I want to but because I mean it. I’m just coming from Sean’s place and we had a long and serious conversation. I know he likes you and know you like him too I told him that I support you and his relationship and I am sorry for not making him go after you. So there you have it. That was how Emma and Ethan settled and became the best siblings again. Emma and Sean began to date and enjoy time with each other. Their parents got to know of their relationship and supported them dearly.

Lola and Ethan got closer to each other. They became happy and went through high school, graduating with good results.

Emma felt so glad that she had all that she wanted. The first few years of high school might have been bad for her but it ended up well and she couldn’t be more grateful to have the best people by her side supporting her and cheering her up.
