Chapter 1007
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
After a short pause, Carlos added, âOrder a few more dishes.â
Frankie furrowed his brows. âRoom 701? Isnât his apartment on the sixth floor?â But then, a womanâs
image popped up in his mind. Frankie instantly nodded.
âYes, Carlos.â
As soon as Carlos had left the apartment, Stephanie dialed Jamesâ number. When the call connected,
she said in a seemingly calm voice,
âUncle James, it looks like Carlos is seeing some other woman.â
âWhat?! Who?â James asked, taken aback. He knew that Carlos wasnât the type to play around with
women.
âI donât know who it is. But. she choked on her words as she thought about their conversation in the
morning.
âCarlos was going to break up with me. But I didnât give him the chance to say it out.â At that moment, it
dawned on her that Carlos wasnât sexually impotent as she had thought. It was just that he wasnât
interested in her at all. The realization shattered her heart.
James knitted his brows.
âI see. Iâll have someone look into it. Just pretend nothing has happened. I will take care of that woman,
whoever she is.â
âOkay, James. Butâ¦I do have a guess as to who she might be,â she said hesitantly. Sheâd had her
doubts for a while now and she said it out loud, âCould it be his ex-wife? Debbie?â
âDebbie?!â James exclaimed, jumping to his feet. The sudden mention of her name startled him to his
core. Through the receiver, Stephanie could sense the shock in his voice.
âYes, it could be,â she confirmed again.
âThat womanâ¦Sheâ¦sheâs back in Alorith?â James was flustered.
Again, Stephanie could sense his voice trembling, but she didnât think too much into it.
âYes.â
âDid she meet Carlos?â
âYes.â
James felt his heart pounding so fast, and his blood pressure was shooting up. After a long pause, he
calmed down and told Stephanie,
âLeave this to me. Iâll have you and Carlos married as soon as possible.â
âThank you, James.â
After hanging up on her, James rummaged through his desk for his hypotensor, a drug to lower his
blood pressure. He finally felt better after taking two pills.
âThat bitch! She promised not to come back to Alorith anymore. And she had the guts to come crawling
back in secret. She even met Carlos!
Dammit!â he cursed furiously, banging his hand on the desk.
In the afternoon, Debbie was woken up by the doorbell once again.
