Chapter 1071
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
Debbie scratched her hair.
âQuit your games. Out with it.â
She had only managed to compose four new songs. She still needed to compose five more to finish the
album. But staring at a blank piece of paper had only dampened her mood and she couldnât think of a
thing. It was killing her.
Sometimes she wondered if Carlos deliberately did it to stop her from pestering him.
âYouâre no fun. Your ex-husband got drunk, and Damon couldnât drive him home because he had
something else to do. So he tapped me for the job.
Carlos is drunk! Thereâs no better chance than now. Sure you wonât come?â
As Debbie had strained her brain, she couldnât take all that in.
âWhat do you mean no better chance?â
Angelaâs Library
Jared was disappointed by her ignorance of subtext.
âA chance to sleep with him! Make him feel guilty afterward. And then you guys get married again. Get
it?â
âSleep with him?â Debbie sighed. âI wish. But Carlos has an iron will.
Last time, I got him into bed but we didnât knock boots, â she thought gloomily.
When she didnât respond, Jared sighed and said, âOkay, forget it. IâLL let Stephanie know. Sheâll know
what to do.â
âHey, hey, wait! What? Okay, Iâm coming! Wait for me!â Debbie finally figured it out. She stood up and
rushed to the bathroom.
Jared heaved a sigh of relief.
âHurry up. Room 888 at Orchid Private
Club.â
âOkay, got it.â
Then she took a quick shower, put on a bare amount make-up and wore perfume with a Light fragrance
before going out.
When she arrived at Room 888, she saw Jared impatiently waiting at the door. At the sight of her, he
quickly urged, âHeâs in there. I should get going now. No need to thank me.â
âOkay. See you,â Debbie said to Jared.
As soon as she opened the door to the room, a strong reek of alcohol reached her nostrils. She fanned
her hands through the air, trying to keep the stench away from her nose and mouth.
After taking a few steps inside, she saw a man in white shirt lying lazily on the sofa, eyes shut.
She wasnât sure if he was fast asleep or not. He wasnât responding to the noise, though.
Debbie put aside her handbag and patted him cautiously, hoping to rouse him.
