Chapter 1097
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
Stephanie finally got to Carlosâ bedroom at 11 p.m. She knocked, but got no answer.
She pushed the door open and was greeted by darkness. The lights werenât on. She flipped the switch,
only to find the bedroom empty.
Carlos wasnât here.
She caught a glimpse of the tidy bed, with its 100% Long-staple cotton sheets, 270 thread count. It
hadnât been slept in. That was when she grew suspicious.
âWhen did Carlos leave? Where is he?â
Unlocking her phone, she called him, but it went straight to voicemail.
It must be off.

âI wonder when heâll be back?â she thought.
Debbie didnât know what time Carlos finally stopped and how she got to bed. The sun was high in the
sky when she finally woke up. Piggy, who was dressed neatly, was playing with her toy on the bed.
When Debbie opened her eyes, Piggy called out, âMommy.
âHmm⦠Piggy, what time is it?â Debbie reached out for her phone, but to no avail.
Piggy didnât know how to tell time, but she knew figures. She grabbed
Debbieâs phone and read the numbers on the screen, âOne zero two one.â
Hearing that, Debbie instantly sat up.
âOh my God. You must be starving. Donât worry. Mommyâs cooking now.â When she tried to stand, her
legs shook, and she put a hand to the nightstand to keep from falling.
âIâm full. I ate. Uncle Carlos ate too.â
âReally? Who cooked? Whereâs Uncle Carlos?â And that was when Debbie realized that Carlos stayed
overnight.
âBuns, porridge and dishes. A handsome uncle.â
âA handsome uncle? Was he Frankie?â Debbie wondered.
âWho got you dressed?â Although Piggy knew how to put on a dress, she couldnât zip herself. This
dress fastened from the back.
Piggy simply answered, âUncle Carlos.â Carlos even picked out this beautiful dress for Piggy himself.
Was there no end to his talents? He might not have wanted a daughter, but he sure showered her with
affection.
Debbie was rendered speechless. âCarlos is really a good dad.*
In the afternoon, Debbie and Piggy were at the park. Piggy was going to ask for help with one of the
playground toys when Lucinda called
Debbie.
âHi Debbie, howâs it going with Carlos?â
