Chapter 1168
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
âYouâre right. I asked him to rape that woman. But I had nothing to do with her death,â he said coldly.
Disappointment was written all over Ivanâs face when Aldrich admitted it.
âYou didnât know her. Letâs say thatâs true. So why did you have your man rape her?â
Ivan was really at loose ends. When did Aldrich change so much?
âI didnât know her, but Debbie did. And those two hated each other. If something bad happened to
Megan, Debbie would take the blame.â Aldrich flashed a vicious smile before continuing, âI figured if we
let Megan think that Debbie hired the man to rape her, she would vow revenge.
What a catfight that would be! I donât know who killed her. Wasnât it
Debbie? Ha-ha! This is hilarious!â
Aldrich laughed hysterically, which made Ivan frown.
âItâs so over.â
With that, he turned around and walked off.

Seeing his retreating figure, Aldrich rushed up to him and gave him a back hug, resting his head on
Ivanâs shoulder.
âPlease donât go. I love you so much. I canât live without you.â
Ivan made no response. Sarcasm welled up in him and he didnât want to say anything heâd regret. He
didnât think Aldrichâs feelings for him were love-he was just too possessive.
After leaving the villa, Ivan worked to control his breath and tried to calm his jangled nerves. Sitting in
his car, he called Debbie.
âHi,
Debbie. Did I wake you?â
âNo. Whatâs up?â Debbie stretched and yawned. It was a restless night, and she just couldnât fall
asleep. Carlos was in the bedroom next to hers, and that excited her far too much.
âI know who hired that engineer to rape Megan. Butâ¦Debbieâ¦I donât know if I should turn him in.â Five
years ago, Aldrich saved his life.
They were good for each other then. He was the wrong person at the right time. Ivan wasnât really
willing to turn the guy over to the cops just Like that.
Debbie paused for a while and then asked, âDid he have anything to do with her death?â
âI donât think so. Give me some time, Deb. Iâll make sure you come out of this smelling like a rose. I
have a lot to think about right now, though.â He knew he should turn Aldrich in. Otherwise, Debbie
would be the only person they could pin the murder on. But he didnât know what to do.
âNo problem. Ivan, donât worry about me. Iâm holing up in Carlos manor. Take care of yourself.â
Ivan leaned against the seat and murmured, âEventually, I figured out I didnât love him. Thatâs why I got
annoyed at him instead of turned on when he tried to make out with me. Why didnât I see it before now?
I even asked you to marry me as cover. Iâm so sorry I dragged you into thisâ¦â
Upon hearing that, Debbie coaxed him softly, âItâs not your fault. I married you to make Carlos jealous,
you know. We both had our reasons.â
Ivan heaved a sigh of relief.
