Chapter 119
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
Chapter: 120
For two minutes, Debbie couldnât find her voice.
âNo, Carlos, weâre getting a divorce. I donât want to owe you anything. Iâm 21 years old.
I can support myself.â
In truth, after everything that had happened between her and Carlos in the past few days, there were
moments when she had wavered from getting a divorce. But still she felt they should divorce each
other if they could.
Debbie looked resolute when she said that. He could tell from her eyes that she had meant every
single word.
However, he was used to taking control over everything. This time wouldnât be an exception.
âYou canât wait to get rid of me, huh?â With that, he put the cards in her hands. He didnât say it, but his
behavior told her that he wouldnât accept her refusal.
âYes, Carlos. I donât know what you want from this marriage, but I wonât change my mind.â
Debbie might be stubborn and arrogant, but in front of her was a man much more stubborn and
arrogant than her.
Carlos frowned. âBoss, Sir, Mr. Handsome, Mr. Hilton, she has addressed me in so many ways. When
is she going to call me Honey?â
âI wonât change my mind either. If you donât use these cards⦠should
I remind you of the consequences of defying me?â
Sure enough, as soon as he finished talking, Debbie flared up.
âDo you always get what you want by threatening people? Do you have no other ways of convincing
people?â
Debbie snapped at him, her voice hardened with rage.
âOther ways? I do have other ways, for example, sleeping with you and making you incapable of
getting out of bed for three days,â he said.
âYou⦠you⦠you are shameless! I wonât give you a chance!â
âThen I wonât give you a chance to get a divorce,â Carlos responded casually.
Debbie wanted to make a snappy comeback, but she failed. After a while, she said, âIâm going to bed.â
She couldnât bear to spend another second in the same room as him.
When she got to the door of her bedroom, Carlos spoke again.
âGive your classmateâs money back now. Stop Looking for a job. You wonât have the time for a part-
time job and university.â
âWere you eavesdropping on my private conversation?â Debbie got even angrier.
âHow could he? This is unacceptable.â Debbie wanted to wrap her hands around his throat and strangle
him, but she knew better than to pick a fight she wouldnât win.
âEavesdrop? I was just passing by your door, which by the way, you left open, when I overheard you
talking to someone on the phone.â
âAh!â Debbie screamed inwardly. She wanted to punch him hard so he wouldnât even recognize himself
in the mirror. Breathing in and out, she tried to calm herself down.
