Chapter 1226
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
Debbie smiled and asked, âYou know Iâm head over heels in love with
Carlos, right?â
Kasie nodded. âI know. And because you couldnât have him, you married
Ivan, â she thought.
âDo you think I jump to conclusions?â Debbie asked.
Kasie said nothing, as she was totally confused.
âSo did he kiss you or did you kiss him?â she asked with a smile. âIf
Ivan kissed Kasie, it means that heâs not gay. But if Kasie kissed him, thatâs bad news. I donât want her
to get hurt.â
âHe kissed meâ¦â Kasie answered, Lips trembling.
Her answer made Debbie heave a sigh of relief.
âThank God! Hey Kasie, if you donât hate him, date him.
Kasieâs jaw dropped even more. She was well and truly shocked. âWhat the hell? Is she crazy?â
Angelaâs Library
âWeâre heading for a divorce, Ivan and I. So if you want him, heâs fair game. I know Emmett would want
to see you happy. I think heâs stilt watching over you.â Kasie might already know it, but Debbie wanted
to make sure she did.
Kasie sighed and murmured, âSometimes, I dream about him. Iâm scared heâd be mad if I found
someone else. We were going to get married.â
Tears welled in her eyes once more.
âI remember that. But heâs gone now.â Debbie could totally relate.
After all, she thought Carlos was dead for three years.
Only Carlos was really still alive. His death was a cruel lie, while
Emmettâs was a crueler reality.
The two women talked for a long time, about everything and nothing. And
Ivan didnât matter. Kasie was happy that Debbie wasnât mad at her. âI gotta stay away from him till those
two are through, â she told herself.
After talking Like in the old days, they were still as close as they ever were.
The next day, Kasie and Debbie hung out together as if nothing had happened Last night. At the
canteen, they chatted over a meal.
Carlos looked at Debbie and thought, âI guess she doesnât know about
Ivan. Iâd better keep my mouth shut. I don*t want her to get hurt.*
