Chapter 1254
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
Kasie was surprised.
Ivan let her go and reassured her with a smile, âDonât worry. Nothing will happen.â He scratched his
head.
âMaybe I could work during the night while you rest.â Ivan pointed at his computer on the desk beside
the bed.
âItâs okay. I think Iâll sleep in my bed. Thanks. Good night.â
Ivan could see the vulnerability and helplessness under her brave disguise. It hurt him. He gave her
hand a comforting squeeze and said gently, âDonât be a hero. Stay here. Trust me.â
âBut Debbieâ¦â ââ¦will be mad,â she wanted to say. No matter what,
Debbie was married to Ivan. Kasie thought sheâd be miffed if she spent the night in his room.
Ivan got it.
âDebbie wonât mind. She loves Carlos, and sheâs with him
So, go to sleep.â
Once again, their marriage puzzled her.

âWhy are you two married, anyway? You donât love each other, so whatâs up with that?â
Ivan smiled.
âNot now. Itâs not the right time.â
Kasie decided to trust him, and stay the night.
Lying in bed, she watched Ivan working at his computer, the glow of the screen illuminating his face.
She tossed and turned, for God knows how long, but sleep wouldnât come.
âUm, maybe you should come to bed too,â she said, sitting up.
Ivan rubbed his forehead.
âIâm good. Go back to sleep. Iâll crash on the sofa.â
Kasie thought about it for a minute, and then got out of bed. She walked over to Ivan, slowly closed his
Laptop and said, âI trust you.â
He promised he would divorce Debbie. She believed he was a decent man and would never cross the
line before he and Debbie got a divorce.
When he heard this, Ivan stopped protesting. He Left the chair and lay beside her on the bed.
The next morning, Debbie felt something hit her face. She opened her eyes and found herself in
Carlosâ arms.
She reached out to touch her face. Then she screamed, âAhhhhh!â She raised her head and glared at
the wheeling, skirling birds flying free in the sky.
Carlos was roused by her scream. He hadnât fallen asleep until dawn. He looked at her, trying to figure
out what happened. When he finally figured it out, he couldnât stop Laughing
