Chapter 1289
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
âHey! Donât change the subject. I see! You are afraid of me asking
Carlos to look into you, right? I know what Yates does in Askor. If he hates you, that means youâre a
mobster.â
Decker had gone from annoyed to pissed. He walked towards the door, about to leave.
âYou want me to leave? Fine, Iâm gone.â
âWhat?â Debbie rolled her eyes and ran towards the door to stop him before he ran off forever.
âm right, then. If Iâm wrong, then tell me the truth,â she insisted.
âCut the crap and get out of my away!â he spat.
âItâs almost three in the morning. Where are you going? By the way, how did you even get past the
entrance guards? I can understand how Ramona got in. Sheâs rich and famous. But youâre a stranger
to the city. Yet somehow you found your way into my apartment. How did you get in?â
Champs Bay Apartments was one of the most high-end areas in the city.
No one who didnât belong there could enter without permission. There were security guards patrolling
the area, and CCTV cameras everywhere.
Decker wore a hideous expression, like he had just accidentally eaten a fly. After a bit, he taunted, âYou
figure it out. Youâre the smart one.
âCut it out. Iâm not that smart.â âIf I were smart, none of this would have ever happened and Iâd be with
Carlos.*
âGet out of the way! Iâm outta here!â Impatient, Decker put his hands up to push her away.
Debbie took a step back to avoid him.
Angelaâs Library
âDonât want to talk? I canât force you. But listen to Carlos. Heâs tighter with Yates than I am.
Wouldnât it make more sense to work with him than against him?â
âHow are you and Yates related? Why didnât you mention him before?â
Decker asked with a frown.
âWhy would I even bring him up? I bet you didnât know he went to one of my concerts.â
âI had no clue,â Decker answered. He didnât even know where he was at that time. Or what he was
doing.
âForget it! Go back to bed. Otherwise, Iâll have Carlos look into you,â she said.
âOh, give it a rest, sis. Iâm not afraid of him Decker said angrily.
Debbie shrugged and said, âDonât know, donât care. Go to bed.â
âYou!â He didnât know how to answer back.
âGood night!â she said and then went back to her bedroom.
