Chapter 1402
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
After arranging everything for the âshow,â Carlos and Curtis sat at an automatic mahjong table in the
living room.
A few minutes later, Niles entered, gasping for air. After quickly grabbing a glass of water, he asked,
âCarlos, Iâve been working for the whole day. I am only here since you asked me to come as soon as
possible. Dude, Iâm super exhausted. What do you want?â
Carlos, who was playing with the mahjong tiles, raised his eyes to look at Niles.
âDid you bring enough money?â
âWhat?â Niles stared blankly at Carlos.
âGeneral Never-victorious, he wants you to play mahjong with us,â
Curtis said with a grin.
âYou know that Carlos seldom loses. If you donât have enough money, call your brother and ask him to
wire some money to your account.â
âHey, watch it! Who are you calling General Never-victorious, huh? I won big against Carlos the night
before Pepper Debbieâs wedding.â
Debbie was stunned. âThe night before my wedding? How did I not know about this?â she thought,
staring at Carlos.
Angelaâs Library
Curtis chuckled.
âHow silly! You just reminded Carlos of his very unpleasant memory. You are doomed, Niles. I do feel
bad for you.â Niles had not only reminded Carlos of the money he had lost that night, but also
mentioned the one thing Carlos hated to hear the mostâDebbieâs marriage to Ivan.
Niles panicked. He knew that he had messed up. He said immediately, âI donât feel Like playing
mahjong today. Iâm only here to watch the show.
Carlos, you called me here to watch the show, right?â
Without sparing him even a single glance, Carlos simply spat, âNo mahjong, no show.â
âDamn! I shouldnât have come here. No, I shouldnât have answered his call in the first place. Heâs gonna
torture me now!â Niles cursed inwardly. Left with no choice, he sat opposite Carlos. Staring at the empty
chair, he asked curiously, âWe need a fourth player. Who else did you call?â
Carlos finally raised his eyes to look at Niles.
âYouâll know when heâs here.â
Within a few minutes, someone knocked at the door and then two bodyguards pushed a woman into
the room.
Debbie recognized her.
Glenda, Stephanieâs mother.
Debbie asked Carlos in a low voice, âWhy bring her here?â
Her hot breath on his ear made his senses tingle. He bent towards her and said in a whisper, âMother
and daughter should share their weal and woe.
Debbie frowned. âShare their weal and woe? What does he mean? Does he have something planned
for Glenda as well?â
Glendaâs face was in shock when she saw the people in the room. But before she could say anything,
one of the bodyguards gagged her, and the other tied her up. She could neither speak nor move.
Horror was seen plainly in her face. She made strange noises, but no one could make out what she
was saying. No one cared.
