âPassword?â
â1104.â
âSounds like a birthday,â she said casually.
âYeah. Meganâs.â He didnât feel the need to hide it from her. Megan had changed his password.
Angelaâs Library
Blair froze for a moment. âMegan again! She has him on a short Leash.â
Suddenly, she lost the desire to friend him.
She threw his phone back to him.
âForget it,â she spat.
Wesley caught his phone. âWhatâs her problem?â he thought.
Under his confused look, Blair said in a sad voice, âI quit. You donât care for me. I know you feel itâs
your responsibility to help me. Iâm sorry I came on to you.â
She sounded Like a girl who had been hurt by her boyfriend.
Wesley figured out what she was doing. He looked at his phone and asked, âYou playing cat and
mouse? Hoping Iâll feel sorry for you?â
âSeriously? Why does he know everything? Oh God! How embarrassing!â
Blair forced a smile and stammered, âYouâ¦youâre imagining things.â
Wesley sneered. He raised his phone and asked, âSure you donât want to friend me?â
Being a proud girl, Blair answered firmly, âNo, I donât.â
Blair could only watch helplessly as Wesley put his phone back in his pocket.
It wasnât long after that Talbot finished cooking. When he walked out of the kitchen with a plate of food,
an awkward silence hung between
Blair and Wesley. But he was too slow to realize it.
âCome and get it!â
Wesley shot to his feet first and went to the kitchen to help Talbot set the table.
Blair followed him and began to ladle porridge for them.
Just as she picked up the ladle, someone stopped her.
âYou scalded your arm, remember? Let me do it,â said Wesley
He took the ladle away from her without a second thought and began to dish it out into the bowls.
