Chapter 1694
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
âSorry, I never knew how to handle her,â he refused bluntly.
Irked by him, she said between gritted teeth, âYou jerk! You just stand by and watch me sink lower and
lower.â
âQuit exaggerating. But whatever, I donât care what you think.â
Blair closed her eyes to hopefully calm down and hold back her anger.
âOkay, okay. Then hand me a card. I want to buy your mom a gift. Iâll pay you back when I get a new
phone.â
Wesley lifted his hands to show her the shopping bags.
âMy wallet is in my pocket. Grab it yourself. My hands are full.â
Blair remembered the embarrassing scene at the supermarket last night.
To avoid any more embarrassment, she took the bags from him. Anyway they were just clothes and
shoes, so the bags werenât heavy at all.
âNow you can take out the bank card yourself.â
Angelaâs Library
Cecelia approached them.
âWhat are you two whispering about? Wesley, why is Blair carrying the bags? Sheâs a girl!â
Wesley explained, âIâm giving her a bank card.â
âWhy?â Cecelia asked naturally.
Blair was worried. She didnât think Wesley was a good liar and he might blurt out the truth. So she
chipped in quickly, âLast night at the supermarket, I was about to swipe my cardâ¦but Wesleyâ¦already
paid the bill⦠Then⦠Iâ¦put my bank card in his wallet, because it was raining outside I forgot to get
my card back.â
Obviously, Blair was no better than Wesley at telling a lie. She stammered to make up a lame excuse.
But lucky for her, Cecelia bought her lie. She nodded to them and urged
Wesley to be quick.
Wesley gave his bank card to her. Now, with card in her hand, Blair finally had the courage to lead
Cecelia to the brand shops that were suitable for the middle-aged mother.
In the end, Blair bought Cecelia a silk scarf as a gift. But the price was rather cheap compared to the
things Cecelia had bought her. Blair tried her hardest to lead Cecelia into those gift shops. But the nice
mother couldnât pick out anything she liked.
Later, when they shopped in the cosmetics area, Cecelia was interested in a particular shade of
lipstick. A saleslady brought a sample stick for her to try the color. Blair also tried on a warm-toned,
Mocha lipstick shade. After applying it to her lips, she turned to the man who was waiting for them, and
asked, âWhat do you think of this color?â
Wesley looked at the smiling woman in confusion and then focused on her moist, plump lips.
âColor? Isnât every lipstick red?â he asked. He didnât know about the colors, but he did want to kiss her
lips right now.
Blair shook her head helplessly. Cecelia laughed and told Blair,
âYouâre wasting your time asking him. Heâs a typical guy.â
