Chapter 1709
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
âItâs not a big deal. We donât need to tell her right now,â Niles said nonchalantly. âIf Mom knows that
Blair isnât my girlfriend, then
Grandpa will find out. He wonât buy me the house then!â he thought.
âWait! What?â Blair couldnât believe her ears.
Niles tried to recover from his fumble.
âOh, I meanâ¦Iâm really busy now. Iâll call her when Iâm done working. Okay?â
âOkay. Niles, your mom is so awesome. You better find a girlfriend soon so that she wonât pair me off
with you.â
After some consideration, Niles said, âThe easiest way is for you to get together with Wesley. Then
weâll both be happy. What do you think?â
âOops, I was wrong. Itâs not that Blair doesnât want to be with Wesley, but the other way round, â he
thought.
Blair cast a casual glance at Wesley and answered, âNo, no. Iâm not your brotherâs type. Heâs trying to
foist me on you.â
Wesley stopped walking and stared at her with a frown.
âOn me? Youâre kidding! Know what? My brother may be all serious on the outside, but heâs really
passionate and gentle. Donât give up! I believe in you. Keep at it, and you can really be my sister-in-
law,â
Niles answered.
âPassionate and gentle?â âBwahaha!â Nilesâ words made Blair laugh out loud. But as soon as she saw
Wesleyâs deadpan face, she stopped laughing and made a face.
âYou know him well.â

âOf course! You have to know this! You remember I told you he stroked your handââ
âNiles!â The angry roar made Niles shiver. He wondered why he heard
Wesleyâs voice on the other end.
âBlair, am I hearing things?â Niles asked with the utmost care.
Wesley took away Blairâs phone and told Niles, âNo, youâre not hearing things. Keep talking. What were
you going to say?â So now a private conversation couldnât be private, not where Wesley was
concerned.
âWesley⦠Umâ¦youâre a handsome guy. You and Blair are a perfect match. Youâre meant to be
together. Uhâ¦ha-ha⦠I still have work to do. Bye!â Before Wesley could say another word, Niles hung
up the phone.
Wesley stared at Blairâs phone and recalled what Niles said. âSo he saw me stroking her hand at the
hospital?â
He was about to give the phone back to Blair when he met her teasing eyes. Now he was sure that
Niles said something about that.
His tanned face seemed to have blushed. Blair widened her eyes and tried to see if she was seeing
things. Wesley gave her phone back and walked forward quickly.
âNiles always makes up stories. Just ignore him,â he said, trying to hide his shyness.
Blair tittered under her breath. Judging from Wesleyâs reaction, she was sure that what Niles said was
true. She wondered when that happened, when Wesley stroked her hand.
