Chapter 1779
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
Blair then sighed and shook her head.
âNo. You got things twisted.
Weâre just friends.â
Lenard joined in the conversation.
âSo you havenât said yes to him?â
A N G E L A âs L I B R A R Y
Blair flashed a self-mocking smile.
âIâd do that in a heartbeat, but he never asked.â
Talbot, Lenard and Bowman looked at each other in disbelief.
âDonât give up, Blair. Our chief might be gruff on the outside, but he has feelings for you. Just go for it!â
When she heard this, Blair couldnât help but burst into Laughter.
Wesley happened to come back at this moment. Seeing Blair and Talbot happily chatting back and
forth, he was infuriated.
âTalbot!â he shouted.
âYes, Chief!â Talbot immediately stood up straight.
Wesley cast a sidelong glance at him and demanded, âBack to base! Now!
And report to me when you get there. If you take longer than 20 minutesâ¦â He didnât have to say
anything more.
âYes, Chief!â
Though Talbot was totally confused, he left without further ado.
Blair was also confused. Wesley had just showed up, handed in her resignation, forced the Jameson
Group to give her money to her, and taken her away. Unreal!
When they got into the car, Blair asked Wesley, who was driving, âSo,
Joslyn told you everything?â
âOf course.â Wesley wasnât lying.
Blair rubbed her temples and said, âActually I already wrote a letter of resignation. You didnât need to
do this.â She was very grateful to him, and meanwhile felt a little embarrassed.
Wesley cast a casual glance at her through the rear-view mirror.
âYou saying I should mind my own business?â
âWhat? I didnât say that.â âOf course not. Iâm very grateful to you.
