Chapter 1787
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
âOh,
I guess! If you must, you must!â he said.
âHuh?â
Blair couldnât make head or tail of what he said. But she soon knew what he meant. Within two
minutes, the soldiers all swarmed in like buzzing bees.
âWhoa, small world! Fancy meeting you here, Chief!â one soldier uttered.
âNo wonder Chief turned us down. Heâs on a date,â a second teased.
âChief, why donât you introduce us?â a third complained.
Then he turned to Blair and introduced himself, âHi, Iâmââ Before he could finish, another soldier
nudged him aside and said to Blair, âHi, weâve met before. I was one of the instructors at your
university. The military training?â
Their enthusiasm overwhelmed Blair. She swallowed her food quickly to greet them.
âIâm actually not Wesleyâs girlfriend. I bought him dinner to thank him for helping me,â she explained.
But the soldiers looked at each other and snickered, as if Blair were joking. They didnât buy it at all.
Even Talbot didnât believe her. Nor Bowman.

âNow Blair, donât be shy,â
Talbot said.
âChief, can we join you?â
Wesley didnât reply. He put the peeled shrimp on Blairâs plate and wiped his hands. The soldiers
widened their eyes in surprise and started talking quietly about it among themselves.
âI never knew Chief could be so thoughtful. When we ate shrimp, we just ate the shells, too.â
Blair heard them, not sure what to say.
Just then, Wesley called the waiter over.
âWeâd Like a private booth.
Do you have any?â
The waiter nodded.
âYes, sir. We have one left. This way, please.â
The soldiers were thrilled to eat with Wesley and Blair. It was a treat to eat with their boss, but with a
beautiful Lady too? Bowman was eager to help.
âLetâs move Chiefâs dishes there,â he prompted.
