Chapter 1790
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
Before leaving they threatened Filberta that Percyâs wife would come home the next day and she would
kill the bitch then.
Frightened to the core, Filberta left the office earlier than usual.
The other employees assumed that she might be too scared to come to work the next day.
No sooner had Wesley started the engine than Megan called. The car GPS displayed her name. Blair
didnât utter a word. She put her phone away, rested her head on the back of the seat and looked out
the window.
The ringing stopped after two rings. Blair thought Wesley took the call. But there was silence in the car.
He wasnât speaking. She turned her head curiously. The car GPS window showed that the call had
ended.
A moment later, his phone rang again. This time, she knew why. Wesley hung up on Megan.
Blair felt relieved and happy.
âWhy did you hang up?â she asked.
âIâLL call her back later.â He knew that if he took Meganâs call at that moment, Blair would get mad
again. So he decided not to answer
Meganâs call in Blairâs presence.
âMaybe you should answer it. She has called you twice. What if something has happened? Or maybe
there is some emergency,â Blair said.
Wesley looked at her and said, âIf you say so, then Iâll answer it.â
âOâ¦okay,â she stammered. The moment he uttered those words, the happiness in her heart vanished.
Wesley smiled.
âI changed my mind,â he said.

âIâm afraid if I take
Meganâs call, someone will throw a tantrum and insist on moving out again.â
Blair realized that he was making fun of her.
Flushing with embarrassment and anger, she grabbed his arm tight.
âIT you ridicule me again, Iâll pinch you hard,â she threatened. In fact, he was wearing thick clothes, and
her pinches wouldnât hurt that much.
So her threat didnât have the effect she had expected.
âI think I know what kind of boyfriend you should have.â
A boyfriend? That wasnât something she wanted to hear about, especially from him. She only wanted
him. Still, she asked, âWhat kind?â
âYou need someone tough. The kind that can endure pain, enormous pain,â he teased. She would raise
her hand at Wesley whenever he said something wrong, hitting him and pinching him. He was afraid
that if her future boyfriend wasnât tough enough, he wouldnât be able to bear it.
Blair withdrew her hand, pouting.
