Chapter 1838
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
âHappy New Year! Grandpa Keith, Uncle Baldwin, Aunt Cecelia, Niles!â
Blair greeted them cheerfully and handed over the gifts she had bought them.
Cecelia herself was more than just thrilled to see Blair. Ignoring all etiquettes, she quickly put her gift
aside and grabbed Blairâs wrist, pulling her towards the sofa in the living room.
âBlair, you are finally here. I would have loved to see you here on New Yearâs Eve. I wanted you to
celebrate it with us. But doesnât matter. Youâre here now. Oh my! Your hands feel so cold. Come here.
Take this hot-water bag. ItâLL warm you up in no time.â
She began to make a fuss immediately and Blair felt a little embarrassed.
âAunt Cecelia, donât worry. I donât feel cold. And yes, I regret that I couldnât join you all. My grandpa
wanted me to have the family reunion dinner on New Yearâs Eve with him and my uncleâs family.
That is why I could only visit you so late.â
âThatâs okay. You must be hungry, huh? Wesley, grab some snacks for her,â Keith remarked and
nudged Wesleyâs leg with his walking stick, motioning him to slide the tray of nuts towards Blair.
Wesley cast a glance at the tray in front of him and then ordered
Niles, âGo to the kitchen and wash some grapes and mangosteens.â
Niles hadnât even had the chance to say hello to Blair, and yet his brother had asked him to wash fruits.
He was quite unhappy about it and retorted, âMomâs already prepared the fruits. Look! There!â
Without even looking to where Niles was pointing, Wesley spat in a furious tone, âCut the crap and do
as I say.â

There was already a fruit platter Laid out on the table with cherries, blueberries, and strawberries neatly
arranged. However, Niles had no choice but to go to the kitchen reluctantly and perform the chores he
had been ordered to. Wesley knew that Blair was really fond of cherries, so he picked out all the
cherries from the platter, put them on a plate and slid it towards Blair, who accepted it with a voiceless
thank you.
ALL of Ceceliaâs attention was diverted towards Blair, and she didnât even notice what Wesley had just
done.
However, the effort did catch Keithâs and Baldwinâs eyes and they exchanged a knowing Look with
each other.
Blair, who had taken the plate from him, was feeling a bit uneasy.
Ceceliaâs enthusiasm was making her a little flustered. She didnât know how to repay her kindness or
how to react, so she did the only thing she knew-she gave the plate to Cecelia and said, âAunt Cecelia,
have some cherries.â
The woman didnât know that the red, ripe fruit had been hand-picked by
Wesley for Blair. She just took the plate from her, picked up a cherry and put it into her mouth while
asking Blair all sorts of things about recent developments in her life. Even with the cherry in her mouth,
she didnât seem to be stopping with her conversation.
Seeing that scene, Wesley sighed inwardly. Then he put a tray of nuts in front of Blair, motioning her to
eat some.
This time, Blair thanked him in a Low voice and grabbed a few cashews.
Niles managed to somehow complete the task he was given and finally came out of the kitchen
carrying a large bowl of grapes and mangosteens.
âHi Blair. Eat some grapes and mangosteens. The grapes are imported from America, and the
mangosteens from Thailand. Theyâre known to be the best and the sweetest. Youâll love them!â
Cecelia, however, had her own ideas of âthe best,â and pushed the bowl aside.
âBlair, donât listen to him. You eat the fruits that Iâve prepared for you. These cherries, blueberries and
strawberries are also imported, and they are far more delicious than grapes and mangosteens.
