Chapter 221
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
Now that Carlos had already seen him, Tristan couldnât just shut the door and leave. He swallowed
hard and entered the office. He presented a file folder to Carlos and said, âBoss, I got this from our
branch office, and thereâs an urgentââ
Before he could finish his sentence, Carlos interrupted him impatiently.
âI asked you to investigate my wife. Do you know anything about her previous relationships? Who was
she with? And for how long?â
âNo,â Tristan answered briefly, his head Lowered. He knew heâd failed
Carlos, and was ready to accept punishment if necessary. Carlos hadnât asked him to investigate
Debbieâs relationships with other boys; he didnât dare to do it without authorization. And this was what
he was waiting for.
âLeave the file here and do what I told you to do,â he demanded coldly.
âYes, Carlos.
âPay special attention to her relationship with Hayden Gomez.â
âYes, Carlos.â Tristan raised his head and was on the point of Leaving when he saw Carlosâ face. A red
mark? After a closer look, Tristan confirmed that Carlos did have a red mark on his cheek. About hand-
sized. His mouth widened in shock.
âDid Debbie slap him?*
âOut!â Carlos thundered.
Frightened, Tristan ran out of Carlosâ office and went back to his seat. He took a moment to slow his
breathing, and patted his chest to calm himself down.
âOh my gosh! This is the first time Carlos has been this angry. Last time he blew his top when we lost
an order worth one hundred million, but he was not this angry. But now⦠Women will humble the
mightiest of heroes, â he mused.
Now he finally understood why Carlos had exiled Emmett to the construction site. Emmett probably
sided with Debbie. Even so, Tristan considered it a smart move for Emmett to build a close relationship
with Debbie, in light of how much she could influence Carlos, so he decided to do the same.
Leaving the Hilton Group, Debbie hailed a taxi and proceeded to the university. But she changed her
mind halfway and told the driver, âOn second thought, take me to Shining International Plaza.â
Then she took out her phone, opened the WeChat app and mentioned Kasie and Kristina in their group
chat.
âIâll be waiting at our old haunt.
You guys coming?â
âPlaying hookey again, Tomboy?â Dixon asked curiously.
âYeah. Iâm not in the mood. I need to blow off steam.â
While waiting for Kasieâs and Kristinaâs replies, Debbie posted an update in Moments.
âI wantâ¦â She couldnât finish it. She was too mad.
So she just left it that way. She couldnât wait to get together with her friends.
Instantly, someone going by the handle commented, âWhat do you want?â
Initially, Debbie didnât plan to reply, for she didnât know who this person was. But she was really
frustrated right now and wanted to vent her anger. So she replied, âI want Carlos to step barefoot on a
porcupine.â
