Chapter 233
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
He cast a cold glance at her and shrugged on his coat without saying a word.
The smile on her face disappeared as she stated in a cold voice, âI havenât forgiven you yet. If you want
me to forgive you, then donât get
Emmett involved in our fight. After all, it was I who threatened him to keep my identity a secret. He had
no choice.â
âIt has nothing to do with me,â he answered indifferently.
Debbie didnât expect him to say that. Or act like that.
âWhat a petty man! Fine. Maybe my feminine wilesâ¦â âCan you please let him come back?â she asked
in a soft voice.
âCan you please stop being mad at me?â he asked in reply.
Reluctantly, she answered, âOkay. Iâm not mad at you anymore.â
âThen Iâll let him come back when Iâm not angry at him anymore,â he offered.
Debbie jumped to her feet and snapped, âThen I wonât forgive you!â
âPoor Emmett. Heâll have to haul around bricks on that construction site for a long time,â he sighed. He
turned around and walked towards the gates.
Debbieâs jaw dropped. She wanted to find a way to bargain with the man.
But after he had changed his shoes, she hadnât figured it out yet. She could only run toward him and
hold his arm tightly.
âIâm not mad at you now. Can you just forgive Emmett this time? Câmon old manâ¦â
Trying hard to suppress his laughter, Philip opened the gates for
Carlos and wondered, âDebbie is so cute. She knows how to deal with
Carlos. Heâs a sucker for sweetness, but never command him to do anything. â
âWhat did you just call me?â Carlos asked in a cold voice. He never liked that epithet much, and saw no
reason to do anything for her when she was like that. He Liked to have everything under his control.
Embarrassed, Debbie cast a glance at Philip. He immediately got her point and left the villa.
Once she was sure Philip was out of earshot, she held Carlosâ arm and said âHoneyâ in a sweet voice.
Satisfied, Carlos smiled, but he feigned anger and asked in a stern voice, âHeâs that important to you?
Youâre going to do what I want just for him?!â
âItâs not what you think. Thereâs nothing going on between Emmett and me. The day we met at Shining
International Plaza, I only asked him not to tell you who I was. Itâs so unfair that heâs being punished
because of me. Can you forgive him and let him come back? Otherwise, this whole thing will weigh me
down; I may not be able to lift the spoon at the dining table.â
In her usual playful manner, Debbie forgot how important this was for
Emmett and trailed off into a joke. Carlos pried her hand off and left her with a terse message as he
Left for workââBe attentive in your lessons.â
Debbie felt frustrated. âI begged so hard and he Left me hanging? He didnât even say whether he had
forgiven Emmett or not.â
