Chapter 329
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
Keep them safe, will you?â Tabitha said as she took off the pair of jade bracelets that she was wearing.
She pulled Debbie close and put them in her hand.
Actually, Tabitha had prepared a gift, but that was before she knew that Debbie was her daughter-in-
law. Now that she was aware, she didnât think that the gift she initially bought was a decent gift for her
daughter-in-law, so she decided not to mention it at all and give her the jade bracelets instead.
Debbie was stunned. She knew how meaningful those bracelets were.
Overwhelmed by the warmth and nervousness she felt, she didnât know what to do. She Looked at her
husband.
Carlos smiled, âSince Mom is giving them to you, take them.â
Debbie took the jade bracelets, her eyes red.
âThank you, Mom. Iâl treasure them and keep them safe,â she promised.
With Debbieâs assurance, Tabitha nodded in approval.
She liked her daughter-in-law. She was simple, honest but also quite perky when she was with Carlos.
Megan sat next to Carlos with her hands propped against her jaw, wearing her typical sweet smile.
âTabitha is so nice to Aunt Debbie.
Iâm envious,â she said.
Tabitha smiled, âMegan, one day when you get married, your mother-in-law will be nice to you too.â
âIâm too young to think about getting married, Tabitha,â Megan replied. At that point, a housemaid
handed her a cup of tea; she took it and lowered her head to take a sip.
Tabitha smiled and continued to talk with Debbie.
âWhich year are you in at university? Busy at school?â she asked.
âIâm in my Junior year. Weâre not so busy,â she replied.
âWhatâs your major?â Tabitha asked.
Just then, the housemaid with Jake upstairs ran down, flustered.
âCarlos and Debbie, somethingâs up,â she reported nervously.
âWhatâs wrong?â asked Megan.
The housemaid ignored her and looked at Debbie, saying, âThe boy.
Debbie, I didnât mean it. I was cleaning. I didnât notice⦠I tried to stop him, but he wouldnât listen.
The housemaid was so scared she was on the verge of crying.
Debbie had an ominous feeling. She stood up and went upstairs.
