Chapter 376
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
âHayden, what a coincidence,â he responded flatly.
Megan was surprised to see Debbie and Hayden.
When she met Debbieâs eyes, she quickly looked away, as if she didnât know her, and then intimately
took Carlosâs arm. Standing beside
Carlos, Megan Looked Like a sweet teenage girlfriend. She even nodded to Hayden politely.
Debbie glanced at Meganâs hand coldly. What pissed her off was that
Carlos wasnât saying or doing anything.
Hayden had seen Carlos several times before, but Carlos had never talked to him. Hayden had
wondered for a long time if Carlos had a problem with him. But now, he realized that heâd just been
imagining things.
Oblivious to the tense atmosphere around him, Hayden continued,
âCarlos, I heard that you went to Deplua for a bid for a contract. Why are you back so soon?â
Everyone in the business circle knew about the open tender. Since it was a big investment, many
companies were interested.
âWhy am I back so soon?â Carlos thought to himself, glancing at the angry woman next to Hayden. âItâs
all because of her. She said she missed me.â
Before Carlos could respond to Hayden, Debbie tugged at Haydenâs sleeve and said, âCanât you see
how intimate Carlos and his girlfriend are?
Thereâs no doubt he came back for her. The managerâs waiting. Letâs go and eat.â
Hayden knew that Debbie was being impatient, so he ended his conversation with Carlos.
âCarlos, enjoy your meal. Weâre sitting at the next table.â
Carlos nodded silently.
Debbie turned around and sat in the seat that the manager had arranged for her. After they placed their
orders, Debbie started sipping her tea absentmindedly.
âWhereâs your husband? Why didnât he pick you up after class?â asked Hayden.
Debbie thought about it for a moment and then said in a raised voice,
âOh, my husband? Heâs walking the dog right now.
At the next table, the teenage boy exclaimed, âMegan, are you okay?â
Hayden was confused by Debbieâs reply.
âA dog? He Left you at school alone because of a dog?â he asked.
âYes, a bitch. Opposite sexes attract each other after all, not to mention the fact that itâs a good-looking
bitch. So my husband Likes her a lot,â Debbie said as she drew circles on the table with her index
finger. The two at the next table heard every word of hers, Loud and clear.
Unaware of what she actually meant, Hayden commented with a smile, âNo matter how much he likes
her, itâs just a dog. Are you saying that you are not even as important as a dog in his heart?â
