Chapter 508
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
Valerie and James as âGrandmaâ and âDadâ hundreds of times.
Unfortunately, she didnât have the chance to call them that to their faces.
âYeah, I think youâre right,â Tabitha smiled. Then she pretended to mention Megan casually.
âBy the way, how well do you know Megan? Her parents saved Carlos and Wesley. Did you know
that?â
Debbie didnât know why Tabitha suddenly talked about Meganâs parents
After short consideration, she realized that Megan must have snitched on her to Tabitha. She nodded
honestly, âCarlos told me about that.
Mom, donât worry. Iâll be nice to her and treat her like my own niece.â
Tabitha was at a loss for words; she didnât know whom she should trustâ
Megan or Debbie.
âMegan is an adorable girl. We all like her, especially Carlosâ grandma. Sheâs like family. Youâll like her
when you get to know her.â
âIâUL like her? A girl who said she could have been married to my husband? Not a chance!â Debbie
thought. If they werenât in the Hilton familyâs manor, she would have already taught Megan a Lesson.
But she decided to be obedient to Tabitha.
âIâm three years older than her. I will humor her as much as possible. Donât worry, Mom.â
Debbieâs conciliatory attitude reassured Tabitha, who nodded in satisfaction. There wasnât much more
she could ask for, and Debbie seemed sincere. At least thereâd be less drama this way, she hoped.
Tabitha didnât like family fights much.
After a long pause, Tabitha stammered, âD-Debbie, why donât you go to the study and get Carlos out of
there? You know James* temper⦠If I go there, I donât thinkâ¦heâll listen to me.â
Debbieâs heart sank when she heard Jamesâ roaring coming from within the study. âIf James wouldnât
listen to Tabitha, then why does she think heâd Listen to me?â Debbie thought.
But now that Tabitha had asked, Debbie decided to do as she was bidden.
She didnât want the Hilton family members to argue with each other over her.
Perplexed, she knocked on the door to the study.
âCome in,â came
Wadeâs voice.
Debbie pushed the door open and saw Carlos leaning against a couch, smoking. Valerie and Wade
were sitting opposite Carlos, and James stood before a desk. The floor was a mess-papers, pens, pen
holders, knick-knacks, paperweights, paperclips, and staples. There was barely any place to step on
that wasnât covered with debris.
âGrandma, Uncle, Dad, sorry to interrupt you,â said Debbie.
James got even angrier at the sight of the girl.
âWhat are you still doing here? Get the hell out of our house. Go back to Alorith!â he thundered.
