Chapter 518
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
Kasie werenât Debbieâs friend, Carlos would have already asked Emmett to get rid of her.
But the problem was that Kasie was one of Debbieâs best friends, and
Carlos did what his wife wanted. Emmett had no idea whether his boss would punish Kasie or not.
He just wanted to frighten Kasie using Carlos.
After some hesitation, Kasie argued, âI donât care. Debbie will help me.â
âDebbie? Sheâs sleeping off jet lag. When she wakes up, you could be dead.â
His words did make sense. Kasie had called Debbie countless times, but her phone had been switched
off.
She pried, âWill you put in a good word for me?â Little did she know that Emmett was unable even to
fend for himself.
âOf course!â Emmett promised without hesitation.
âGreat. Okay. You can take a picture of me. By the way, why do you want my pic?â she asked in
confusion
Emmett told Kasie honestly, âIâm really fed up with blind dates. I canât stand them anymore. Iâll send my
father your pic and tell him weâre dating. Then at some time in the future, Iâll tell him weâve broken up.
Sounds good?â
âGet bent! You think Iâm that desperate?â
Emmett stared at her, eyes wide. He really knew next to nothing about women.
âBut Iâm not asking you to be my girlfriend. Itâs just⦠Ah screw it! Name your price,â he offered,
resignedly
âWell, you buy me a bunch of roses, a handbag and some clothes. Do that, and you wonât just get my
pic, but we can take selfies together.
Way more convincing. Okay?â
âWhat?! Thatâs some serious time and money! This womanâs gone too far!
Iâd rather find a boyfriend who can support me, â Emmett cursed inwardly. But the more he thought
about it, the better it soundedâ
Kasieâs demands, not the boyfriend part. Maybe then his dad would get off his case. Despite his
thoughts, he said through gritted teeth,
âDeal! Youâre Debbieâs friend, after all. I just need to make some arrangements and pay the bill here.
Then weâll go to the mall.â
He called the IT manager and assigned some tasks to him before leaving the cafe with Kasie.
After they arrived at Shining International Plaza, Kasie led Emmett to a store, picked up a handbag
which sheâd had her eye on for a long time, and put it in Emmettâs hands.
âJust buy this. I donât need roses or clothes.â
The handbag stood out because of its strange shape. Emmett was a Little shocked by Kasieâs taste,
but said nothing. He needed this, so he just went along with whatever she wanted. He took it to the
cashierâs desk, and much to his surprise, it only cost him around $200, @00. He had thought it would
cost more than 1 million dollars.
Then he went back to Kasie and handed the well-packed handbag to her.
