Chapter 642
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
âLetâs go!â she ordered.
âHey! Watch the hair!â Jared protested. If it were someone else other than Debbie, who dared to lay a
finger on his new hairdo, he wouldâve kicked the guy away. Or at Least he wouldâve given him a good
punch to remind him.
It wasnât easy to manage the new hairdo. He had spent more than an hour making it look just right
before he went out today.
He anxiously looked at his reflection in the rear-view mirror and carefully smoothed the tousled hair,
making sure he looked as handsome as usual. After two minutes, the flamboyant guy still hadnât started
the car. Impatient, Kasie kicked the back of the driverâs seat and yelled, âAre you going on a date? Quit
messing with your hair. You already have a tons of pretty girls around you. Letâs get going!â
Jared finally started the engine. He complained, âBut itâs you guys-not my Mrs. Right. Iâm not looking for
a friend or a girlfriend. Iâm looking for a wife.â
âA wife?â Debbie mocked.
âYou? The eternal bachelor? Dream on,â she said, as she played on her phone.
Jared sighed helplessly.
âCome on Tomboy. Have some respect.â
On the other hand, Megan showed no interest in their bantering and secretly texted Carlos.
âUncle Carlos, are you free now?â
She waited awhile, but there was no reply. Megan assumed that Carlos was busy with his work at the
moment, so she texted him again.
âAunt
Debbie is taking me somewhere. She wanted to have a talk. But sheâs bringing a couple friends alone.
Uncle Carlos, Iâm scared..
In no time, Carlos flat out called her. Seeing the caller ID on her phone screen, Megan instantly
silenced the ringer. She didnât answer the call.
Shortly, Debbieâs phone rang. Confused, she shot a glance at Megan, who was just sitting quietly with
her phone in her lap. The screen was off, so she wasnât playing with it. After a Little hesitation, Debbie
decided to answer the call.
âWhatâs up?â
âWhere are you now?â
Debbieâs lips twitched.
âWhy do you ask?â
âWhere are you taking her?â Carlos asked as he leaned back in his chair, massaging his aching
temples.
âI just want to talk to her. What are you worried about?â Carlos could sense the irony in her tone.
âDonât do anything rash. Her health is bad.â
âHaw-haw!â Debbie chuckled ironically.
âLet me guess. Youâre worried that Iâll hit her?â
