Chapter 838
Burning Passion: Love Never Die
âHow did you know?â Millie asked, surprised.
âCoincidentally, my girlfriend also attended Preagend University. She mentioned it to me,â Mylo
disclosed.
Millieâs gaze alighted upon the girl who was absorbed in her meal, fingers dancing across her phoneâs
screen.
âThank you! I*1l drink it on her behalf.â Marcus took the wine glass that Mylo handed to Millie.
âCome on. Just take one sip. Itâs a gesture of goodwill, and she should appreciate it personally,â Mylo
urged.
Observing Millie, Marcus held the wine glass delicately and reassured, âNo need to fret, weâre a team.â
âYouâre correct. As a married couple, you should be connected both emotionally and⦠physically.â
Mylo pauses for a moment to emphasize the word physically.
Feeling uncomfortable, Millie thought Mylo was truly irritating. Millie cast a complex glance at Marcus.
Marcus downed his drink and guided Millie away from the smooth-talking Mylo.
Placing the cup casually on the table, Marcus fixed his gaze on Millie with a playful glint in his eyes.
âWhat were you thinking just now? You seemed lost in thought.â
Millie felt a rush of guilt. Did he pick up on her thoughts about the hidden meaning of Myloâs words?
âAfter he mentioned wanting us to be happyâ¦â
Marcus leaned slightly, shielding them from prying eyes.
She hadnât expected him to catch her momentary lapse.
But she certainly wouldnât confess what was on her mind. âN-n-nothing,â Millie stammered, her anxiety
evident as she scanned the surroundings.
âReally?â A deep smile played on Marcusâ handsome face.
Holding her breath, Millie managed, âBelieve it or not, Iâm going to have something to eat.â
She reached for a skewer from the side, about to take a bite, when she hesitated. Realization dawned
on her; the roast sausage seemed to carry a hidden innuendo after Myloâs remarks.
âWhy arenât you eating?â
âI donât want this,â Millie admitted, her embarrassment causing her to shake her head. Opting for a
squid instead, she tried to move past her awkward thoughts.
