WHERE IS SHE ?!

(Jasmine/ same night)

Man I feel so bad for Rico. Her mother is almost the only family she has, besides me of course. I know her pain. I felt the same way every time my mom had to be admitted to the hospital.

When I was younger my mom was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer. I didn't understand it at the time being the fact that I was only six or seven years young. Her and my pops told me she was just really sick. I hated seeing her in the hospital bed. It seemed like she was trapped there & I would miss her at home so much. I thought it would get easier seeing her there but it never did & I haven't been the same since.

But now I have India and she is the best person in the world. I'm so glad to have her in my life. I regret the way I treated her in high school, whenever I think about it I get sick to my stomach. I thank God every chance I get for giving me a second chance with her.

Rico, Shay & I turned our attention to the nurse. We all slowly stood up desperately waiting for her to continue.

Nurse: Your mother is awake and asking for you.

Rico turned her attention to Shay and I.

Rico: I'm gonna go alone and I'm probably gonna be a while.

I nodded and dapped her up.

Me: I love you bro. Tell your mom to get well soon & call me whenever you get a chance.

Rico: Fasho, I love you too.

She tossed Shay her car keys and told her to come back for her later.

It's weird that they're dating or whatever but I know now is not the time to say anything. Later though, I'm definitely on Rico ass for not telling me.

I tapped my pockets looking for my phone which I couldn't seem to find. I looked toward Shay wondering if she had it.

Me: Shay, have you seen my phone ?

Shay: Ohh yeah.

She pulled my phone from her purse.

Me: Were you trying to steal it ?

She scoffed.

Shay: No, you left it in your seat when the nurse came over to us and I saw some man eyeballing it. I just forgot about it until now.

I shook my head, grabbed my phone and walked away not believing a word she just said.

I clicked India's contact and waited for her to pick up. I noticed she changed her name from "Princess" to "Wifey". Even when she does little things like this she makes me smile. Ugh man, I love her. I haven't felt this way about anybody else before in my life.

She wasn't answering my calls, which is weird because she always picks up. I've literally called about 20 times.

I figured I'd check the car. She told me she was tired so she might've come out here for a nap.

I searched the car and she wasn't there. I walked back in the hospital to check the bathroom and she wasn't there. I've called about 50 more times and still no answer, now I'm getting worried.

I walked to the desk where the nurse was seated.

Nurse: How can I help you ?

Me: Have you seen a short, brown haired girl with a furry blue coat walk this way ?

I'm kinda glad India wore my ridiculous coat which only she seem to look good on her.

Nurse: Yes, I think she stepped outside a few moments ago.

Well, just as I expected she was no help at all.

Me: Thanks.

I walked back outside and tried calling her again. I started to walk around the building and suddenly I heard a faint vibrating noise.

I walked closer to the sound and saw a cellphone. Hell no, this can't be India's. My heart dropped to my stomach when I dialed her number and the phone started vibrating again.

I picked up the phone and noticed the screen had been cracked. Rage rushed through my body while tears fell down my face. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know how to feel & my mind went to the darkest place I could imagine. My knees grew weak and I fell to the ground.

I did the first thing I could think of. I unlocked India's phone & searched her contacts for August's number.

August: Wassup kid.

He answered quicker then I thought he would which gave me no time to think about how the fuck I was going to explain what happened.

Me: In-India...sh-she...I don't know wh-

August: Jasmine ? Is that you ?

Me: India's gone.

August: What ? What the fuck you mean she's gone?

I could no longer speak, the more I thought about what was happening the more light headed I became.

August: Yo Jasmine? Listen to me. Where are you ?

Me: The hospital on St. Luis Ave.

After I told him where I was he hung up. I could literally feel the hurt in my heart as I thought about the things that could have happened to her.

Idk if I'm more angry about something happening to her or the fact that I wasn't there for her when she needed me most.

I made my way back in the hospital up to the nurse...again.

Me: I need to watch the camera's.

Nurse: We can't-

Before she could finish I interrupted.

Me: My girlfriend is missing, something happened to her right outside this hospital. I just need you to-

Nurse: Ma'am I'm very sorry but right now there's nothing I can do. Someone will be with you in a moment.

Me: Nothing you can do? Bitch you could show me the-

Before I could finish August and my pops rushed through the doors.

August had this dark look in his eyes that I've never seen before. When he saw me he made his way toward me.

August: WHERE IS SHE ? WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE ?

Me: I don't know she was-

August: What you mean you don't know? She was with you !

A nurse made her way toward us.

Nurse: Sir, if you don't calm down we are going to have to ask you to leave.

August: What ? My daughter is fucking missing. So if you're not going to help me find her you better back the fuck up lady !

My Pop: Man relax, we're going to find her !

Out of nowhere, August punched my pop in the face. My pop developed this look on his face that scared even me. He roughly pushed August down into a chair.

My pop: Yo man, calm the fuck down.

If August were anyone else I know my pops would've probably killed him right then and there, but they're best friends who knew each other since birth.

August took a long pause and immediately broke down into tears.

August: Where is she ? Man, where is my babygirl ?
