Mafia Kings: Adriano: Chapter 101
Mafia Kings: Adriano: Dark Mafia Romance Series #2
The other Rosolini brothers all came up shortly thereafter and welcomed me into the family with a private toast.
Adriano stood with his arm around my waist, and Dario held Alessandra close by his side.
âTo our new sister, Bianca,â Dario said as he raised his glass.
âWelcome to the family!â Valentino shouted.
âMay those of us still single find a woman as amazing as you,â Roberto said.
Lars grinned. âAnd we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for vastly improving Adrianoâs personality.â
âAnd for turning him from an asshole into a real boy,â Massimo said, invoking Pinocchio.
I doubled over with laughter.
âHey â I made you a groomsman!â Adriano yelled at Massimo in mock indignation.
âYeah, but she saved my life. I owe her the truth.â
âAsshole,â Adriano said, smiling.
âDick,â Massimo said back with a huge grin.
Then Adriano turned to me and winked. âI have to admit, though, she did make me a lot more tolerable.â
I laughed â
We kissed â
And all the brothers cheered.
âWhereâs Niccolo?â Roberto said, looking around. âHe should be in on this.â
âHeâs over there. With a woman,â Alessandra said with a sly grin.
Niccolo was about 40 feet away, talking to a very pretty but very serious-looking woman wearing glasses. He seemed engrossed in their conversation.
âHeâs working on the next wedding,â Roberto joked.
âBetter get crackinâ, man,â Valentino said. âYou two are the oldest after Adriano, and you were born 19 minutes before Nic â so youâre next in line!â
Roberto smiled. âIâll get there.â
Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder from behind.
I turned to find myself staring at a man in his 50s with a pointed black beard and a roguish smile.
âCongratulations, my dear,â he said. âYour dress is lovely â almost as lovely as you.â
âThank you,â I said, not having any idea who he was â
Although that was quickly cleared up.
âCongratulations, Adriano,â the man said as he gave my husband a hug.
âThank you, Uncle Fausto,â Adriano said.
Uncle Fausto.
Iâd heard quite a bit about him, actually.
âGood to see you all alive and well after all that mess with whatsisname,â Fausto said. âMezza-whatever.â
âItâs only thanks to Bianca that it turned out so well,â Adriano said.
âReally,â Fausto said, giving me an appraising look. âWell â for saving my nephews, I thank you doubly.â
As Fausto went down the line of brothers, hugging them and exchanging laughs, someone else walked up â
A man in his 20s who looked like a younger version of Fausto, but clean-shaven and thinner.
My entire body froze.
âCongratulations, Adriano,â the man said.
âThanks,â Adriano said, and I couldnât help but notice the coolness in his voice. âI see you cut your hair short.â
âIt was time for a change,â the man replied. Then he turned to me. âCongratulations.â
I could only nod, a fake smile plastered on my face.
He looked at me quizzically, though I didnât see any hint of recognition in his eyes.
âWhereâs your date?â Adriano asked.
Thankfully the man turned away from me.
âOver there talking to Niccolo,â he said in disgust.
âBetter be careful,â Massimo said. âLooks like he might steal her away.â
I was getting the feeling that none of the brothers liked this guy very much.
âAuroraâs just my date to the wedding,â the man sneered. âIf he can get her, heâs welcome to her.â
âYouâre a chivalrous motherfucker, arenât you?â Valentino joked.
âYouâre the last one who should be lecturing about chivalry,â the man said. âWhereâs your date â back in the kitchen, doing her job? Maybe she wonât catch you trying to bang the other women at the reception.â
I didnât entirely understand the jab, but Valentino looked like he was about to start throwing punches.
Massimo put a hand on his younger brotherâs shoulder and whispered something in his ear. Whatever he said, it seemed to calm Valentino down.
âLetâs go get a drink,â Lars said diplomatically as he put his arm around the rude manâs shoulders. He was evidently trying to steer him away from everyone else.
âNo time for that â we have to be going,â Fausto interrupted. âBut it was good seeing all of you. Congratulations to the new bride and groom!â
After a few half-hearted goodbyes from the brothers, Fausto and the younger man walked off.
Fausto called out, âAurora!â
The young woman talking to Niccolo shook hands with him, then followed Fausto and the other man.
âFuckinâ asshole,â Adriano muttered as they left.
I pulled Adriano away from the others.
âWho was that?â I whispered frantically. âThe younger guy?â
âMy cousin, Aurelio. Heâs a real pain in the â â
Adriano trailed off as he looked at my face.
âJesus, Bianca, you look like youâve seen a ghost. Whatâs wrong?â
âThat man was the one I saw at the modeling agency.â
Adrianoâs eyes grew wide. âYou mean â â
âThe one with the cruel eyes.â
The mystery man Iâd seen right before the hotelâ¦
