Mafia Kings: Adriano: Chapter 62
Mafia Kings: Adriano: Dark Mafia Romance Series #2
Bianca had just walked out of the house and onto the patio.
She was smilingâ¦
Her perfect skin was almost glowingâ¦
And her hair looked like weâd just finished having sex.
She wore something that looked like a short sundress but was the color of red wine.
It hugged her breasts, showing off her curves and tiny waistâ¦
And revealed her toned arms and amazing legs.
Alessandra was walking with her, but I barely even noticed my sister-in-law.
I only had eyes for Bianca.
As they approached, I stood up without thinking.
Bianca grinned when she saw me, then bashfully looked at the ground.
âWe thought weâd join you for breakfast,â Alessandra said as she walked over to Dario. âBut with the exception of Adriano, everyone looks like their dog just died.â
Dario took her hand and kissed it. âWe were just finishing up, amore mio. Can you give us another ten minutes?â
âOf course,â Alessandra said and kissed him on the cheek. âAlthough weâre going to steal a couple of things from you.â
She took a pastry from the table along with a bunch of grapes.
âTake whatever you want, Bianca,â she said. âWeâll get something better once the men finish their little tea party.â
Bianca smiled at me as she reached over to take a pastry.
âDid you sleep well?â I asked, like an idiot.
âI did,â she purred, then leaned in close and whispered, âBut I missed you.â
âIâll see you soon,â I murmured.
She gave me another smile, then looked at my brothers at the table. âThank you for taking care of my parents.â
âItâs our pleasure,â Dario said with a smile. âI think theyâre out in the gardens.â
âThatâs exactly where weâre headed,â Alessandra announced. âGoodbye, boys!â
Everyone said their goodbyes, and I watched Bianca follow Alessandra across the grass.
She looked at me over her shoulder one last timeâ¦
Smiled shylyâ¦
And then turned around and kept walking.
I watched her go.
In particular, I watched her wiggle back and forth under the dress.
Madonn, what an assâ¦
âSomebody got hit by the thunderbolt,â Valentino said, and the entire table laughed.
The âthunderboltâ was an old Sicilian saying for when someone was suddenly struck with overwhelming passion for a woman.
It was similar to âlove at first sight.â
When you got struck by the thunderbolt, reason abandoned you. You lost all sense of everything else, and an overriding obsession took hold of your brain.
I scowled at Valentino. âGive me a break. Iâve barely known her for two days.â
Valentino grinned. âSo? The thunderbolt donât care.â
âWas he like this back in Florence?â Roberto asked Massimo.
âOh yeah,â Massimo said with a chuckle. âHe just didnât want to admit it.â
âFuck off,â I snapped at him.
âDoesnât seem like he wants to admit it now, either,â Roberto said.
âKeep on talking, smart guy,â I warned him, âand theyâll have to take you to the hospital.â
The entire table laughed at my expense.
I gritted my teeth and glared at Niccolo. âThe one thing you havenât explained is why Mezzasalma wants Biancaâs father.â
Suddenly Niccolo was all business again. âBecause her father accidentally figured out about the five families. He didnât understand the significance of it, though.â
âWait a second â the Agrellas moved those cops into Florence, right?â
âProbably.â
âSo were the Agrellas in on it, too?â
âI think they partnered with Mezzasalma because he convinced them he had a plan. They just didnât realize the plan involved them getting wiped out.â
My head was hurting with all these twists and turns, but I soldiered on.
âOkay, so Mezzasalma works with the Agrellas⦠then he double-crosses and murders them⦠then he frames us so the five families turn against us. Biancaâs dad figured it out by accident â but so what? Why should Mezzasalma care?â
Niccolo leaned forward in his chair excitedly. âBecause Mezzasalma is manipulating the five families into moving against us. And they have no idea that theyâre being played.â
âWhat if heâs not tricking them, but working with them to take us out?â
âWhy wouldnât they talk to me, then, and just lie to my face? No â their reaction is like someone whoâs been betrayed. Who doesnât trust us anymore.â
I frowned. âIf he really is manipulating the five families, isnât that something you should tell them right away?! So we can make sure they donât declare war on us?!â
âYou mean, once they answer my phone calls?â
âLeave âem a fuckinâ voicemail and tell âem whatâs going on!â
Niccolo gave me an enigmatic smile. âEventually. But for right now, weâve got an advantage we can use to flush Mezzasalma out into the open.â
âWhatâs that?â
âHe needs to make sure the five families donât realize heâs playing them. But Biancaâs father figured it out. He told Sergio, and Sergio told Mezzasalma.â
âWait â Sergio worked for the Agrellas.â
âYes, but Iâm pretty sure he was also a mole for Mezzasalma. Sergio was a low-level thug in the Agrella family. He was way too scared of some guy nobody had ever heard of before. I mean, none of us knows who he is. The only reason for Sergio to be so terrified was if he knew Mezzasalma â and what Mezzasalma would do to him if Sergio crossed him.â
âOkay, so whatâs this big advantage weâve got?â
âWe have Biancaâs father â but Mezzasalma doesnât know that.â
âWonât he find out from the cops after I sprung Biancaâs dad last night?â
âNot yet â because the police donât realize who they let go! They think he was some drunk name Fabio Flambeur.â
âMaybe thatâll hold for a little while. But once Mezzasalma hears I escaped â and then finds out a dirty cop sprang some random girl and an old guy at the same time â heâs gonna put two and two together.â
âEventually, yes,â Niccolo agreed. âWhich is why we need to act quickly while weâve still got the advantage.â
âAnd do what?â
âIâm still working on that.â
âGreat,â I said sarcastically.
âI canât figure out everything in the blink of an eye,â Niccolo snapped. Then the corner of his mouth turned up slightly. âItâs not like I got hit by the thunderbolt.â
âFuck you,â I snarled as everybody laughed.
Niccolo flapped his hand dismissively. âGo see your little girlfriend and leave the planning to me.â
âYou can take your planning and shove it up your â â
âAdriano,â Dario interrupted. âLetâs go find Alessandra and Bianca.â
I looked at him warily.
I was pretty sure this was a way to have a âprivate talkâ with me.
My brothers figured it out, too â and went Oooooooooh! like I was five years old and had just gotten in trouble.
I flipped them all the bird â which made them laugh even more.
âCome on,â Dario said. He put his arm around my shoulder and led me away from the table.
âGo take care of that thunderbolt!â Valentino called out, prompting the table to burst out laughing all over again.
