Chapter 745
Mrs. Gibson, Your Identily Is Exposed
Chapter 745 Helping the Police
As a result, the leads that police got started surfacing everywhere.
âMr. Gibson.â
To their utmost dismay, when the police came to the hospital, they found out that Melissa was still in a
coma. Listening to that, they shook their heads regretfully.
âEverything will be alright soon.â
One of the members of the investigating team tried to give
strength to Murray in that difficult time. But even after listening to those words of motivation, Murray
didnât get up, he just sat there, looking at â Melissa, his wife lying there unconsciously.
âAccording to the information we had received from you last night, we have found some traces of Jacky
Knight. But for obvious reasons we still lack some strong evidence of his presence here. In order to get
them, we need your assistance. Hope you will cooperate with us.â
The policeman explained the whole situation to Murray and tried to reassure him that the investigating
team working on Melissaâs case was one of the most capable and reliable teams in the country.
âI beg to differ with you this time.âAlmost without thinking, those harsh and stern words came out of
Murrayâs mouth and he turned down the request of assistance to the police instantly. Almost twice he
was so near to losing Melissa and this time he couldnât afford to repeat his mistake of leaving her
alone.
âNot by any freaking chance, I am going to leave her alone now.â He whispered that to himself.
The police officer shook his head disappointingly as it wasnât the time to be emotional but to act
hurriedly and smartly. But after seeing Melissaâs condition, they found Murrayâs act completely
reasonable.
After all, Melissa is his wife and no sane person can leave their wife alone in that sensitive condition,
rest alone, him.
âWe understand and respect your decision. Wishing a sooner recovery to Ms. Melissa.â
The policeman mumbled and nodded, then they looked at the unconscious Melissa, and left quietly.
Early in the morning, Melissa finally got her consciousness back.
She looked at the familiar ceiling, blinked her eyes twice in reassurance but deep inside she was
feeling empty. Like something was missing inside her. She frowned at that strange feeling.
âMelissa.â
Murray called her name when he felt Melissaâs body squirming and moving away from him. He rubbed
his eyes while sitting up, and then found that Melissa woke up.
âYouâre awake.â Murray let out a sigh of relief. That time he
realized that the face before him was tired yet smooth and it was deeply furrowed. Without a delay he
leaned in, held his breath so as not to let his tears out in front of him.
He went close to her, inhaled her scent and took Melissa in his arms, âPromise me that you will take
good care of yourself now.â Melissa stacked everything in her head, still the intent hearing continued.
Murray was constantly caressing her back. His heavy throat was undeniably giving her the idea of
events that had happened with her.
âIt seems like I had fainted this time also.â Melissa thought and stumbled in her own world.
At that moment Murray tightened his hold around her like his whole world was dependent on that
moment. Meanwhile Melissa was filled with an air of comfort and triumph, âHe was here when I needed
him.â a voice came from the back of her mind.
âIâm fine.â
Melissa finally spoke, then smiled softly and patted Murray on the shoulder.
âThatâs good to hear,â Murray mumbled and a smile came to his face after seeing that curve adorned
her lips just as easily as breath came to him.
âIt seems like you are very tired.â Melissa shook her head after seeing Murrayâs disheveled condition
and then suddenly she remembered what happened that day.
âHave you caught him?â She keenly waited for his reply.
Listening to her, Murray instantly understood the context of her question. A hint of disappointment was
visible in his eyes and then he said in a slow tone,
âHe ran very fast, and he was well prepared. Thatâs why he escaped and our people were not able to
catch him.â Melissa nodded her head in disappointment. As she knew that if Jacky would come again,
then he can do anything.
âDonât worry! A few hours ago when you were sleeping, a police officer informed me that they found
some traces but unfortunately they arenât strong evidence.â
Murray told her everything to which Melissa raised her eyebrow in anticipation..
âThen do they need any kind of assistance?â
Listening to Melissaâs words, Murray remembered how the police officer asked for his help and he
refused. But Melissa should not know this. He thought so after giving a long thought, he said in a low
tone, âNo.â.
There was an instant change in the body language of Murray and that hesitation in his voice when he
didnât look at him while saying and that was enough for Melissa to guess the actual situation.
âYou have refused to cooperate, didnât you?â
Murray was surprised to hear Melissaâs words but didnât react.
Meanwhile Melissa knew that Murray was worried about her and he might not be ready to focus on
anything other than her.
She was understanding his dilemma but she had worked really hard in the case regarding Jacky Knight
and now she wasnât ready to let him go so easily and after what he said to her last night then it was
kind of impossible for her.
âYou know, itâs not about me alone,â Melissa paused and then continued, âHe might have some
malicious thoughts regarding the company also, and I will not tolerate if anything will happen to Star
Entertainment.â Hearing this, Murray knew he couldnât stop Melissa.
For now he decided to let it go and not to argue as Melissa was not in her best health. But when he
didnât say anything, Melissa took a deep breath and then without a delay sent a message to the police
officer and agreed to assist them.
âDo you still want to sleep?â
Murray cleared his throat and tried to break that awkward silence.
His eyes were fixed at the moon and the sky outside the window. It was surreal and mesmerizing.
Melissa nodded, although she was not sleepy as she woke up a few hours ago, but when she saw how
tired Murray was while taking care of her, she decided to agree and laid back on the bed. âBy the way,
you donât need to worry about anything. Just take some rest.â Melissa mumbled.
Although it should be Murray to say those words, Melissa took the initiative first. Meanwhile Murray
understood that Melissa was trying to make him feel good and undoubtedly he also wanted to drag that
drab worry out of her gleaming emerald orbs.
âWhat are you looking at?â She broke the silence and then asked him when she observed his gaze
fixed at her,â Do you want to say something?â.
âNothing except that I canât stop worrying about you no matter what.â He sincerely spoke those words
and then he kissed her forehead. Then he leaned to the side and below, not knowing which side, right
or left, he cared less and slowly whispered in her ears, âAnd I canât help it as I love you so much.â
A smile played on her lips when she heard that. Again, his lips lingered at her forehead but this time for
little longer and she closed her eyes subconsciously.
âI love you too,â She blushed.
Looking at her crimson red face, Murray had a sense of satisfaction.
But he instantly moved away and laughed, âNow donât think much, close your eyes and sleep.â
Melissa slowly closed her eyes, the minutes passed, she still wasnât able to sleep. Then she decided to
talk to Murray but the moment she was about to open her eyes, she heard sharp footsteps followed by
the doctorâs voice.
âIs Ms. Eugen asleep?â
It was almost midnight and she was wondering what the doctor was doing in their ward at that hour of
night.
Thatâs when Jackyâs words started echoing in her mind. âWhy did he say that I am dying? Was he trying
to play with my sanity?â She wondered.
Everything was already making her puzzled and now the doctorâs visit was adding more into it.
Out of curiosity, Melissa pretended to be asleep and chose not to open her eyes. âYes, she is.â Murray
answered him but his eyes were never leaving the sight of his wife. Then he knitted his eyebrows
together and turned his face towards the doctor and said in a questioning tone, âShe will be alright
soon?â After hearing his words, the doctor cleared his throat with a worried expression, âI canât promise
you anything for now. Itâs still hard to say.â
The doctor sighed internal energy, and Melissaâs heart was a little shocked.
Those words brought a havoc of turmoil in Melissaâs heart. She was more than shocked after listening
to it. âHard to say? What does it mean?â
Lots of questions started coming in her mind to which she probably had no answer except the fact that
Jackyâs words started making a little sense. Is it my diseaseâ¦
âAm I tested with some chronic or life threatening disease.?
Melissa was so lost in her thoughts that she didnât realize that the doctor walked up to her. She closed
her eyes but her heart started pounding with the highest speed as she was afraid that they might not
discover that she was listening to their conversation.
The next second, the doctor grabbed her arm and started monitoring her vitals, especially her pulse
rate. Melissa secretly swallowed a mouthful of saliva. If it was really like what Jacky said then why
didnât Murray mention that before her and even now also he was willing to hide it from her. âAll this time
I was scared of this only. now my fear is turning into reality and I certainly donât want that.â The doctor
said while monitoring her pulse. âWhat do you mean?â Murray furrowned. âFrom the pulse, Her pulse is
dropping. This indicates that Mrs. happen
Gibson is weaker than before, Iâm afraid that something worse will to her if she wonât take a good
amount of rest.â Hearing this, Melissa started to break down a bit. âNo wonder I have started fainting
more frequently these days. Initially I thought it was because of overworking and for the reason that I
am not resting properly. But it turned out that I was seriously ill.â
âHow can it be better?â
âThere might be some way. Any special treatment or medicine or anything that can help her to recover.
Just tell me I can arrange anything for her. Just name it.â
Murray choked up on his words, he couldnât believe that someone like Melissa who is always ready for
any battle is losing the battle of her life. âFrom the initial stage of treatment, it should have been taken
care of. In the past year, when the treatment was started you must have not ignored the instructions
and should have paid attention to the food and rest. In addition, it was your responsibility Mr. Murrayto
see whether your wife was eating well or not.â
Judging from the pulse just now, the doctor realized that Melissa had not taken her medicine properly
these days.
âIf she would have taken her medicine on time then things would not be as bad as they are now.â
Doctor added further. Murray looked puzzled at his words but then he figured out that
Melissa was unconscious for the past few days so she wasnât taking her original medicine, maybe
thatâs the meaning behind the doctorâs words. He hunched his shoulders.
âLuckily she is in hospital right now and getting the required treatment otherwise her body has already
given up on her long back.â Doctor informed him.
Murray thought he knew everything but what he didnât know was that Melissa wasnât taking her
medicines.
She thought that her illness was not a serious problem and everything was happening due to
overworking and taking so many medicines everyday, was such a hard task for her.. Every time Murray
didnât notice her, she used to throw pills away.
âIn short you must keep one thing in your mind that Mrs. Gibsonâs body is weak and now she canât
tolerate any excursions. If she will faint again and again, it will have a bad impact on her and one more
mis carriagae will probably kill her.â Hearing this, Melissa began to stir a little.
It was because of the miscarriage that she started that treatment and now due to recurrent of these
health issues, now she was getting tortured by it again. âNow even her life is in danger.â Thinking of
this, Melissaâs heart trembled.
Melissa canât help but feel a pang of heartache at the thought of her unborn child.
âWell, Iâll take good care of her.â Murray nodded and agreed.
Soon, the doctor did a full health examination of Melissa and told the nurses that the dressings of her
wounds should be timely changed to avoid any infection.
Suddenly, only Melissa and Murray were left in the room.
Melissaâs breathing was heavy, and the doctorâs words kept echoing in her head. Perhaps due to
physical and mental exhaustion, Melissa soon felt sleepy and fell into a deep sleepâ¦
