Chapter 836
Mrs. Gibson, Your Identily Is Exposed
Chapter 836 Refusing to Compromise
Carlee returned to her seat in the living room, this time with an oddly smug expression on her face.
âThe fool is searching for Nina, and he hasnât found it yet, it seems,â she said.
Carlee lingered on the lengthy note because she assumed that the reason Nina stopped bothering
Harley was because she was dejected after being abandoned.
Carlee felt absolutely no remorse, despite how terrible it may be for a pregnant woman to be in such a
scenario.
Carlee didnât give a damn about the unborn child.
Sylvia was, after all, young, gorgeous, healthy, and strong. In addition to having one child, having two
or three in the future wonât be an issue.
Sylvia feigned to be alarmed when she heard Carlee contemplating and added, âMrs. Timothy, you can
see Harley is sluggish; Iâm going up to check on him.â
âJust in time for you to develop sentiments, I suppose! Men are like this,â Carlee said with a sly smile
as she shared her personal experience. âWhoever gives him warmth while at his lowest, will forever
have that manâs heart.â
âReally?â
Sylvia, who has always claimed to be uninformed about emotions, nodded cautiously and said, âThen
Iâll try it. I just want Harley to be happier. I donât expect Harley to accept me.â
Harleyâs obsession with Nina was cruel to Sylvia and she couldnât see why she couldnât compare to
Nina.
Sylvia took a deep breath and smiled at Carlee while keeping her head down to go up to the second
floor.
Harley was already resting on the bed at this point. He didnât bathe because he was so exhausted. All
he wanted was to fantasize about seeing Nina again.
But soon as he started to nod off, Sylviaâs voice woke him up.
âHarley, what are you doing? I want to discuss something with you.â
Harley became irritated by the soft voice.
âIâm sleeping. Iâll speak to you when I get up,â
Then Harley lay over and turned his back on Sylvia.
His lack of interest in Sylvia had become a habit, but it wasnât the best course of action in the long run.
The rejected Sylvia considered how to remove Nina from Harleyâs heart, which was the most important
thing at the moment, as she stood outside the roomâs door.
Carlee saw her son sleeping in the room in the evening as night fell, so she knocked on the door and
begged him to get up.
âYou need to eat. Itâs almost seven oâclock. I wonât let you be foolish for that woman again, so get up
now!â
After pestering Harley for twenty minutes, Carlee eventually received a response.
âI am an adult. You canât tell me what to do. So leave me be,â Harley snapped
When Carlee heard it, she became enraged and yelled, âHow dare you speak to me in this manner!
Would killing me make you happier?â
Sylvia heard the argument in the hallway and rushed over to see what was going on.
âAll right, Harley, calm down. Mrs. Timothy is just worried about you. Why donât we just eat in your
room?â Sylvia said. Harley just snorted at her as he entered his room again and sat down.
Sylvia quickly smirked at Carlee before continuing, âMrs. Timothy, Iâll join you downstairs after I finish
with Harley, ok?â
Carlee nodded as she knew it would be impossible to enter Harleyâs room with how upset her was. She
watched Sylvia enter the room and close the door behind her. Carlee hoped that Sylvia was able to win
Harleyâs heart. She was getting sick and tired of Harley moping about Nina.
âDonât go against Mrs. Timothy, Harley.â
Sylvia stood in front of Harley and talked, gently and calmly explaining: âSheâs old and has only recently
been released from the hospital. What if she becomes ill once more?â
Harley scoffed.
âHow long do you intend to play this game? Do you believe that trying to appease my mum by being
pregnant will make me compromise?â
Harley had some knowledge about Sylvia, even if he was unaware of her pregnancy.
He wouldnât fall in love with this kind of lady because of Sylviaâs duplicity, even if there was no Nina
between them.
Even after Harley revealed that he knew she was faking, Sylvia maintained her composure.
âIt doesnât matter what you think of me, even if you detest me, but I hope you and Mrs. Timothy donât
do irreparable damage to your relationship,â Sylvia sighed sweetly in response.
âYou donât have to worry about me or my family. You could just leave me alone like Iâve been asking
you to do.â
Harley continued to reject her and snorted angrily without giving it a second thought.
The forbearing look of Sylvia was pursed, and a tinge of concern was added.
âBut you canât neglect your personal image since you are a public figure. Have you been reading the
news lately? People have been saying damning things about you. You shouldâ¦â
Sylvia was interrupted by Harley, who scoffed and said, âI donât care, even if I donât act, I have saved
enough money, so I can still live well.â
In light of this, Sylvia felt helpless.
She discovered that Harley was exhibiting an extreme attitude and was not susceptible to either good
or evil persuasion.
After dinner, Sylvia attempted to pacify Harley again.
As she stroked her flat stomach and spoke to herself, Sylvia began to play the family card. âYou torture
yourself like this every day, Iâm scared you will get sick, what if the kid doesnât have a father?â
Harley viewed the unborn child as a burden because he held no affection for Sylvia nor the child. He
didnât even believe the child was his. Even if the child was his, Harley was at the point that he would
disown the child if it meant getting Nina back.
âIf youâre worried so much, you can abort the child whenever you want, and Iâll pay for it. Itâs not my
fault you wonât listen to me. I have told you more than once that I donât want you nor that child,â Harley
said icily.
Sylvia frowned and said in a tearful tone, âYou still refuse to accept my child?â Harley surprised her by
being so callous to herself. âDo you realize this a life youâre talking about? A life that you helped
create!â
âThat is yet to be determined, you sly witch!â
As Harleyâs temper flared, he sprang up, grabbed Sylvia by the arm, and dragged her out the bedroom
door.
âOur chat is over; please donât bother me again.â
With a loud bang, Harley slammed the door in her face and locked it to ensure she wouldnât try to come
in again.
Finally, there was silence, and Harley just desired a restful nightâs sleep. He jerked awake again after
hearing Sylvia yell in agony from outside the door.
âHarley, open the door for me-my stomach hurts so bad!â
