Chapter 98 Lily Is Also Afraid of the Dark

“Open it and have a look,” Murray smiled and said gently.

Melissa opened the thermos curiously. Then, she smelt the dishes. Inside were all her favorite

homemade dishes.

“Where did you get this?” Melissa sniffed. She had been so focused on her work that she forgot to cat

dinner. When she smelt the dishes, her stomach immediately growled.

Murray smiled. “I cooked it.”

Knowing that Melissa would forget to have dinner once she started working, Murray went home to cook

after work. Then, he brought the meal to Melissa.

Touched, Melissa smiled and said, “Thank you!”

“Try it and see whether you like it.” Murray sat next to Melissa. Watching Melissa gorging on the meal,

Murray smiled gently.

“Not bad,” Melissa nodded and praised.

At that moment, Melissa’s phone rang. She looked down. It was from Jaylin.

Seeing Jaylin’s name on Melissa’s phone screen, Murray looked sullen.

Melissa glanced at Murray and picked up the phone. “Jaylin, what’s up?”

“Melissa,” Jaylin said with concern, “I saw the news about Love and Romance today. I know it’s not

good for you. But don’t worry! I will be your witness to prove that you did not plagiarize.”

When Jaylin filmed the advertisement, the sample of “Ice and Fire” had been created. It was also used

in the shooting. So Jaylin could prove that the sample of “Ice and Fire” was earlier than the new release

of Love and Romance.

Bruce, Vivian, and the others could also prove this.

However, Love and Romance would think of this and be ready to attack the Gibson Corporation.

the company had seen the sample of ‘Ice and fire”.

It meant these people could leak the idea of “Ice and Fire”.

“‘Who do you think it is?” Jaylin asked.

Melissa felt Murray’s unhappiness and narrowed her eyes. “I don’t know.”

“Murray, who do you think leaked the idea?” Melissa smiled and asked after hanging up the phone.

“I‘ve asked Alex to investigate it. We’ll know the result soon,” Murray replied.

Melissa nodded and didn’t continue the topic.

After eating the meal Murray brought, Melissa wanted to continue working. Yet, Murray insisted on

bringing Melissa home.

“You are not in good health. Go back and rest early,” Murray said resolutely.

Melissa was in a dilemma. Murray refused to leave her alone.

Yet, Melissa couldn’t work with Murray sitting next to her.

Therefore, Melissa had to go home with Murray.

They walked into the elevator and the door closed

When Melissa pressed the button for the underground floor, a noise was heard and the light flashed.

Then, they were in the darkness.

“Oh, no!” Melissa couldn’t help but exclaim.

She has been afraid of the dark since childhood.

Melissa’s fear became overwhelming when the light went off.

Melissa squatted. Some memories flashed but she didn’t figure it out,

Just as Melissa was in despair, Murray said tenderly, “Don’t worry.”

Murray embraced Melissa without hesitation. His lips pressed against hers as he whispered, “Don’t

worry. I’m here.”

His voice, like the light in the darkness, warmed Melissa.

Melissa’s fear and despair disappeared. Leaning against Murray, she felt at ease.

“What happened?” Melissa breathed deeply, calmed down, and asked.

“The elevator malfunctioned,” Murray frowned and said as he took out his phone and turned on the

torch.

“What should we do now?” Melissa leaned against Murray’s shoulder and asked worriedly.

She thought, Will I be trapped in this dark and narrow elevator all night?

Seeing Melissa snuggling up to him, Murray smiled.

He didn’t expect the tough Melissa would be so weak.

Melissa’s fragility made Murray long to protect her.

Murray greedily smelt Melissa’s fragrance and hugged her tightly.

Murray had the familiar feeling again.

He wondered, How could Melissa not be Lily?

Seeing that Murray hugged her silently, Melissa raised her head and said, “Murray?”

“I’ll call the security guard and ask him to have it fixed,” Murray said in a low voice after he recovered

himself.

Soon, maintenance workers came and repaired the elevator.

The light turned on and the elevator became bright again.

“Are you okay?” Murray looked at Melissa.

It was too intimate.

Feeling awkward, Melissa freed Murray immediately. “I’m sorry. I’m afraid of the dark, so…”
