Chapter 1227
The Substitute Wife: My Poor Husband Is A Billionaire
Chapter 1227 Laney Was Heartbroken
Janet was inclined to agree with Brandon.
If Garrett had not been giving way to the Harding family constantly, Laney wouldnât have been so
heartbroken and broken up with Garrett so decisively, given her personality. âAre you going to help
her?â Brandon asked gently.
Janet hesitated and replied with uncertainty, âGarrett is your friend. Wouldnât it be bad for us to help
Laney run away with the baby?â
Brandon didnât answer her. Instead, he asked, âBut what about Laney?â
Janet felt even more conflicted.
Laney was her good friend. She couldnât ignore a good friend in need.
Not to mention, Ian had informed her that Vera had brought some bodyguards to snatch Laneyâs baby
away. If Garrett and Ian had not been there, Laney could have been hurt. The future seemed bleak for
Laney and her baby if things continued the way it was.
Brandon understood what Janet was thinking about. He encouraged her gently, âJanet, just do what
you think is right. Donât worry about Garrett and me. I wonât tell him.â
Knowing that Brandon supported her decision, she breathed a sigh of relief. She was initially worried
he would persuade her against breaking up Garrettâs family.
She now felt clear about what she had to do.
âThank you, Brandon,â Janet said gratefully. She wrapped her arms around Brandonâs neck, k*issing
him.
Brandon held the back of her head and returned the k*iss.
After a long time, they finally let go of each other, breathless.
âBrandon, control yourself. Iâm almost out of breath! Weâre still discussing something important,â Janet
said playfully, caressing Brandonâs chest with her fingertips.
âWe can talk about it later,â Brandon murmured. He took off his tie excitedly and held Janet in his arms,
eagerly wanting to take her to the bed.
âNo,â Janet rejected him. She hurriedly gripped Brandonâs hand and added, âI want to settle Laneyâs
problem first. Iâm worried about her!â
Since Janet was adamant, Brandon could only respect her wishes.
He sat on the sofa with his arms around Janet, trying his best to restrain his desires. âAnyway, thereâs
no need to worry too much. If Garrett and Laney break up, itâs his fault. It has nothing to do with you,â
he said casually.
âI understand. But Iâm worried that he might approach you for help,â Janet replied with a nod. Brandon
chuckled, âHe knows heâs in the wrong. He wouldnât dare to trouble me.â
With Brandonâs assurance, Janet finally made up her mind.
She must help Laney escape from the Harding family.
However, Laney had just given birth. It would be bad for her health if there was no one to take care of
her.
As such, Janet decided to call Ian and told him her plans.
âYouâre saying that Mrs. Harding wants to leave Barnes?â Ian clarified with Janet again as he was
surprised by the sudden decision.
He didnât expect Laney to be so firm about leaving Garrett.
Janet confirmed and continued to ask, âWill you leave Barnes with her? If itâs inconvenient for you to
leave, Iâll get someone else to assist her.â Ian smiled and happily agreed, âThereâs no need. Iâm willing
to go to another city with Mrs. Harding.â
Janet never thought that Ian would agree so readily. She asked in surprise, âDo you know which city
Laney is going to? Itâs far less prosperous than Barnes. â
âIâm not really concerned about the environment. Itâs my job to take care of Mrs. Harding. So, Iâll help
her in any way I can,â Ian replied in a low voice.
Janet felt relieved by his words. Ian was a very capable assistant. He would definitely take good care of
Laney and her baby.
She sorted out her thoughts and related her plans to Ian.
