Chapter 1230
The Substitute Wife: My Poor Husband Is A Billionaire
Chapter 1230 Giving Up The Shares
Leoâs temper rose when he learned about the ruckus Vera had caused at the hospital.
âLook at you. Youâre getting more and more reckless!â Leo scolded with rage.
He pointed at Vera and continued, âThe Harding family has a reputation to uphold. Yet, how dare you
do something as shameful as snatching a child at the hospital?â Vera did not dare say a word as she
knew she was in the wrong.
She had been feeling regretful since the moment she found out that Kailee was not a good person.
Why was she so impulsive? Why did she cause a scene at the hospital, creating a distance between
her and her son? Now, she had become the largest laughing stock in Barnes!
Vera was utterly embarrassed. She lowered her head and whispered, âWhat should we do now?â
Leo frowned and sighed deeply. âWell. Thereâs no other choice. We must personally visit and fetch
Laney and her child. Considering us to be her elders, Laney should show us some respect and
comply,â he replied.
Vera was displeased and grumbled in a small voice, âLaney is our daughter-in-law. Why do we have to
plead with her to go home? Moreover, sheâs quite disobedient now. She may not be willing to come
back.â
Leo stared at Vera and sneered, âAlthough you and Laney donât get along well, she still treats me with
respect. Iâm sure sheâll come home if I am to step in.â
Vera pursed her lips and remained silent. She felt that Laney would not be as compliant.
Soon, the two of them arrived outside of Laneyâs ward. To prevent any clashes between Vera and
Laney, Leo whispered to Vera, âThis time, stand aside and watch. Donât say anything unnecessary.â
âI got it. Letâs hurry in,â Vera urged.
Leo cleared his throat and pushed open the door while looking solemn.
However, he was instantly dumbfounded.
The ward was empty, and it looked like it had been unoccupied for quite some time.
Vera went pale from shock and asked, âWhere is Laney? Where is my granddaughter?â
Just then, a nurse happened to pass by. Leo quickly stopped her and asked, âWasnât a patient named
Laney Garcia staying in this ward before? Where is she now?â
The nurse replied softly, âShe has been discharged and left two days ago.â
âSheâs left? Did Garrett lie to me? He said he would bring Laney home in a few days!â Vera exclaimed
in disbelief.
Leo furrowed his brows. He never expected Laney to be discharged ahead of time.
âCall Garrett. Ask him whatâs going on,â Leo muttered harshly.
âNo need. You wonât find her,â Garrett said indifferently, suddenly appearing behind them.
Leo couldnât contain his anger and demanded, âWhere is Laney? Where did you hide my
granddaughter?â
Garrettâs lips curled and mocked, âThanks to you two, I have no idea where she took the child and
went.â
Leo became furious and yelled, âThen go and find her! She took a child from the Harding family and ran
away!â
Garrett looked at his parents with extreme disgust.
He didnât expect his parents to only think about the child. They were not even concerned about why
Laney left.
âI wonât look for her,â Garrett sneered.
âEven if I find her, sheâll just leave again because of the two of you. Thanks to you two, Iâve lost not only
my wife but also my child. I didnât even get a chance to name my daughter before she left,â he
continued sarcastically.
Vera shouted harshly, âFind the child first. Weâll discuss the rest later!â
Garrett scoffed. He then got his assistant to bring out the documents he had prepared and threw them
at Leo.
Leoâs face turned pale upon seeing the title of the document. He glared at Garrett and asked, âShare
Surrender Agreement? What do you mean by this?â
Garrett crossed his arms and said coldly, âIf you dare to harass Laney and my child again, Iâll sign the
documents in public and surrender my shares in the Harding Group. That way, the Harding Group and
the Harding family will have nothing to do with me anymore.â
