Chapter 1267
The Substitute Wife: My Poor Husband Is A Billionaire
Chapter 1267 Sincere Apology.
Mandy put her spoiled and childish personality aside and made use of her professional fashion
expertise to quickly win over Carly with just a few words.
She could be very eloquent and articulate when in the presence of high societyâs upper-class ladies.
âMandy, I trust in your professional abilities. I can now rest assured that my grandmaâs dress designs
are in good hands. She has worked hard her whole life, and she has never worn a good dress. This
has always been a thorn in my heart,â
Carly said with a sigh, patting Mandyâs hand and smiling.
Mandy expressed her empathy by saying, âYouâre such a good granddaughter. I will do my best and
design a very unique outfit for your grandma.â
Carly smiled and nodded in agreement, suddenly noticing Janet standing beside them.
After seeing Janet, Carly recalled her appointment with her.
âMiss White, Iâm sorry.â With a look of regret, Carly added, âI really admire your work. But unfortunately,
Iâve found someone else who is better suited for my requirement.â
Mandy gave Janet a meaningful smile and said, âItâs been a long time, Janet.
I am the designer Miss Reed has chosen for the project.â
From their conversation, Janet already knew that Mandy had taken the job which was originally hers.
Although she felt some amount of frustration over losing a client, she was more surprised to see Mandy
there.
She never anticipated Mandy would take up a design job from Carly.
Was it really just a coincidence? But Janet knew well that it was not the right time for her to dwell on
such thoughts.
Janet gave Carly a wry smile and said, âThere is no need to apologize, Miss Reed.
Not only did I come here today to get the job back, but also to personally apologize to your
grandmother.â
And that was the real reason behind her visit.
Although she was a bit disappointed about losing the design job, she did not blame Carly because it
was her mistake, after all.
If only she had driven Clyde away that day, the poor elderly woman would not have gotten hurt, and
she would not have left a bad impression on Carly, so indeed it was a failure on her part.
Upon hearing Janetâs earnest words, Carlyâs unpleasant feelings toward her were somewhat eased.
Carly smiled and said, âMiss White, you donât need to feel bad about what happened that day.
My grandma is a very kind woman, and she doesnât hold any grudges against you.â
But Janet shook her head and insisted, âMiss Reed, if you wonât accept my apology, I will feel guilty for
the rest of my life.â
Janet then brought out the snacks she had prepared in advance and handed them to Carly.
âI hope you can pass these snacks to your grandma and convey my apologies to her.â For a moment,
Carly hesitated.
But then, Janetâs heartfelt apology moved her, so she accepted the snacks.
âSince youâve gone through the trouble of preparing these snacks, it would be ungracious of me to
refuse them, so I promise to pass them on to my grandma,â said Carly.
Feeling relieved, Janet smiled and said, âThank you so much, Miss Reed. I really appreciate it.â
Carly checked her watch and apologized, âForgive me, Miss White. My grandma will be here soon to
discuss the design project with Miss Hamilton, so I will not be able to entertain you any longer.â
Carly hoped Janet would leave soon, so as not to disturb the meeting between Mandy and her
grandma.
Since Janet had achieved the purpose of her visit, she did not need to stay any longer.
âAlright then, I shall take my leave. I will see you some other time.â
Carly nodded with a smile and said, âGoodbye, Miss White.â
