The Substitute Wife: My Poor Husband Is A Billionaire
The Substitute Wife My Poor Husband is a Billionaire
Chapter 886 Trust
At the Turner familyâs mansion, a variety of delicacies occupied the dining table.
Vivian was gradually losing interest in the delicacies she had been having ever since her first day in the
Turner familyâs estate. At the moment, she was scanning the photos the paparazzi sent. Stills of Janet
and Draco were in front of her.
Vivian was curious about them. Janet, a married woman was still hooking up with other men. Finally,
she had something on Janet.
The smile on Vivianâs face seemed to be permanent. She sent the paparazzi a message to proceed
with the plan and act accordingly.
âWhat are you obsessing about? You look to be having so much fun that you forget about the food.â
Catherine looked at Vivian fondly, asking her to eat more.
During Vivianâs stay, she gradually grew affectionate towards the girl and now treated her like her own
daughter.
Vivian put her phone aside, calming herself for the lie she was about to say. âItâs a message from the
school. The teacher said that our experiments made a huge breakthrough.â
Catherine was delighted for Vivian.
Vivian turned toward Lukeâs direction and scooped up some food for him. âDad, Iâve been looking up
lots of recipes these days so I can cook for you. You need nourishment in your b*ody to regain your
energy.â
âWhat a lovely girl you are.â A big smile was plastered on Catherineâs face as she spoke.
Luke was discharged from the hospital only a few days ago.
The liver transplant surgery was a success and since then, his condition had been stable. Except for
being a little thin, he looked much better. The fact that Vivian donated part of her liver to him eased the
hatred he had for her before. So, when Catherine insisted on letting Vivian stay, Luke didnât object too
much.
Luke then said, âHow are your studies abroad? Donât you need to go back yet? At your age, you should
focus more on your study.â
Vivianâs lips stretched into a smile. âThe professor treats me very well. The project was done without
any complications too. The school is considerate when they found out that I donated my liver. They
reviewed my previous performance and allowed me to finish the academic year online. My
performance has been outstanding so thereâs nothing to worry about.â
Vivian could tell that the Turner family had trusted her again.
Luke nodded with relief. Vivian was an obedient girl. Most of his doubts disappeared.
Serving some more food for Vivian, Catherine asked, âWhat are you going to do now that you donât
need to go back to school?â She sneaked a glance at Luke who was oblivious to her gaze. âIf you
havenât decided yet, you can work at the Turner familyâs company if you want.â
Vivianâs aid was a great help to the company while Luke was in the hospital. She dealt with some work
at the company and Catherine was immensely satisfied by her professionalism.
Vivian unfortunately had no desire on working in the Turner Group. It would only make it more difficult
for her to get in touch with Brandon and Janet. Then it would be harder to get revenge.
âThe Turner Group is one of the leading companies in Barnes. A fresh graduate like me might not be
able to catch up with such a competitive setting. Dad, mom, I want to venture outside and toughen
myself. Then when I have enough experience, Iâll come back to the Turner Group. Iâm sure the
employees of the company will accept me completely once Iâve proven myself.â Vivian declined politely.
She was entirely aware of where she was standing. Rashly entering the Turner Group wouldnât be a
wise choice.
Catherine regarded Vivian carefully, watching the expression on her face. Catherine felt as though she
had gone back in time. In the past, Charis decided to enter the Larson Group instead of her familyâs
company. She was young, stubborn, and seemed to be unafraid of anything. Just like Vivian now.
âYou⦠Youâre really like her.â Catherineâs train of thought halted as tears filled her eyes. Putting down
her knife and fork, she called the maid and ordered, âGo get the brocade box in my cabinet and bring it
here.â
The maid turned around to do as she was told. It didnât take her long to bring the box to Catherine.
Catherine opened the box. Inside was a gold necklace with jade pendant that looked too delicate to
touch. Judging from the jadeâs color, the necklace was worth a fortune.
âThis is my dowry when I got married. Iâm giving this to you as a graduation gift. Youâll be attending
banquets soon enough. Itâs inevitable. Having this kind of jewelry is suitable for such luxurious
occasions.â Catherine picked up the necklace and put it around Vivianâs neck. The weight shocked
Vivian. She didnât expect it to be so heavy. Her hand flew over her lips after briefly touching the cold
jade pendant, feigning surprise and affection. âI have never received such a precious gift.â
Catherineâs kindness was reflected in her smile. âIt doesnât matter if it is precious or not. The most
important thing is that it suits you. You look so beautiful with this necklace.â
Vivian frowned and pretended to refuse. âMom, I donât think I deserve this.â
âDonât talk nonsense!â Catherine scolded, but her tone was gentle. âYou are our child now. In the future,
you can get more than just jewelry. As a member of the family, you are entitled to some shared of the
Turner Group. Both your father and I think girls shouldnât work too hard on their careers.â
Catherine continued, her voice not losing its softness. âIf you like to do something, you do it. If not, you
can always take it easy and enjoy like other ladies. Whatever it is you want is fine. As long as the
Turner family is here, you can depend on us. Live a carefree life.â The mention of the shares made
Vivianâs eyes twinkle. She wasnât expecting Catherine to talk about it on her own and so willingly too.
